Will be watching this. I’ve seen some older docs on him and it’s really just horrific.

It’s the same production as the Ted Bundy one on Netflix (“Tapes”) so should be good.

I watched the first 2 episodes last night, I'll finish it tonight.

I had obviously heard of him before but never knew loads about the case, bloody hell though, it's scary to think people like him exist in the world, some of the things he says are just so chilling, this part :

About picking up male prostitutes, that he "bought" them so if he didn't like them he could break them.

i thought the recounting of events by the guy that survived a night at his house was horrifying

Yeah, it was terrifying, he must think every day how lucky he was too to have actually survived. Myself and Gav were listening to his story and thinking why did he not get the hell out of there asap instead of staying the night but then remembered he was 18 years old at the time, just a kid really. That man is what? in his late 60's now and you could just see in his eyes how traumatized he still is, I'd imagine even more so after seeing that news story digging bodies out of his house

Never has the word Crawlspace had such a vile sinister meaning

Ugh I know, it's a real life horror story. I was saying imagine being one of his neighbours, all that went on in and beneath his house, you'd be horrified. The house looked so bland and normal as well

Finished it last night. I do wonder about the Insanity plea's sometimes. I mean I get the temporary insanity thing where a person gets over come with anger or whatever in response to a situation but I mean in cases like this, especially serial killers, I mean they probably are insane technically speaking, wouldn't you really have to be to do the things he did with no feeling or remorse? That doesn't mean you get a cushy sentence or put in a mental institute though, your mental illness is too evil and dangerous

Watched this now, nurture over nature as his Dad’s attitude towards him had a big influence on how he turned out imo

Oop should have looked further for this thread.

This was so harrowing. I didn’t realise he had killed so many young men.

For ages I was wondering what a Gacy Tape was, and why they only made them for John Wayne...

One of the saddest aspects for me is that some victims are still unnamed

Agreed. I was pleased to hear that they’re still actively working on trying to match DNA up with missing men from the time period so hopefully one day they are all identified.
