His parents Ben and Kami,
alongside race officials, have received
immense backlash for the decision to
allow a six-year-old run to a marathon
Ben and Kami defended their decision
in a lengthy Facebook post and said they
had 'never forced any of our children
to run a marathon'
[Race officials said they allowed Rainer
to participate because they had the
'intention' to provide support in forms of
'medical, fluid, and replenishment'
Officials also said the family had entered
the race as 'bandits' in prior years
and they suspected they'd 'do so again'
The minimum age for the 26.2-mile race
in Cincinnati is 18 years old,
14 years old to run in the half marathon
and 12 years old to run in the 10K
