Dawn Butler is probably the best I can hope for, but I can be fairly certain already that wes streeting will get it easily.

Out of everyone who's "plausible" I'd say Nandy.

Dawn Butler would get the Diane Abbot treatment, there's literally no point. But whoever takes over will be slated. Like I said Labour is like the Lib Dems, they've become a party people don't want to listen to anymore.. with except to the loyal labour supporters.

Butler is a bit more coherent and less gaffe-prone than Abbott. I don't think she's a good choice, but she's certainly no Abbott.

They tried pandering to the right/centrists by taking Corbyn down, they've tried pandering to right wing media by sucking up to Murdoch and writing for the sun. Hopefully they may realise that standing on your principles and offering something different should be the way forward, rather than trying to out-tory the tories. Otherwise, allowing people with zero interest in a labour victory, to choose their leader every election cycle will continue backfire in the same manner.

If it's based.purely on experience, may as well skip any discussion and just give it to the oldest

Why vote for another tory when you have a whole party of them across the aisle?

He's not a Tory Slim don't be ridiculous, he's a true Left Centre. He doesn't pander to the hard left, and he's certainly not anything like an actual Tory. His fundamentals are sound, and he'll add some much needed balance to this current messed up political landscape.

Even if that's true , he'll have a hard job convincing people. Might seem pessimistic but I just don't have alot of hope for labour. This country will always be run by hardcore Tory's :bored:.

He admitted not even campaigning for labour at the last election, and he has a history of working against previous leaders and labour policies. The whole discussion is irrelevant anyway as no way will the rozzers get involved in removing the loto. If you like streeting, then you should really like starmer.

Nah, Starmer has no backbone. Streeting was disheartened with the way in which Labour was headed. He was right, look at the state of Labour now.

Tbf to Starmer he’s properly snookered the Tories now hasn’t he, either he doesn’t get fined and he gets proven to be sound for properly following the rules and the Tories and their pals in the press look like the petty, vindictive finger pointers they are, or he somehow gets a fine and steps down, he proves to have more honour and integrity in his little finger than the entire government put together and it’ll throw into question why they didn’t fine Boris’ pet Cummings retrospectively when he very clearly broke the rules too

Well it depends on people's attitudes. If they are apathetic and don't vote, then Labour will never get in. Support your party and put your cross in the box. It just might make a difference.

The whole Covisd stuff is behind the GBP now
I dont think it has much traction anymore apart from in the news media
in fact it may be damaging to still be harping on about covid when its now history
from a labour perspective, the combination of the candidates nominated for the leadership positions and those voting for them has been an unmitigated disaster. The people voting seem incapable of choosing someone with broad enough appeal and charisma to get labour in government. Thats the problem, and its not going to change any time soon

Liam,
Cummings was above Johnson
that was the trouble.
Boris was his pet.

Probably for the best considering how badly he was treated. I wanted him as PM aswell . But the hate campaign against him was painful to see.
