Is it an unwritten marker of common etiquette for you or couldn’t you care less?

I'm in between. I occasionally talk while eating, which is badmanners. But generally I'm polite. Wouldn't do it if eating out though, only at home. X

No excuse, you do not eat with your mouth open.
If you do them you were probably dragged up, not brought up

of course i eat with my mouth closed lol,
I have to open my mouth to get the food in. If I have it closed it just makes a mess of my face. How could you eat corn on the cob with a closed mouth?

Very strict, nothing worse than a gross noisy eater
What if you're eating alone. Do you eat like a pig then?

I agree about noisy eaters. But that’s a general source of frustration for me, even aside from noisy eaters (aka overly-gregarious roomies who treat the kitchen like their personal study-zone, people who can’t have a normal conversation without being overly-loud, rah-rah-rah).

Always, even when I'm alone. The sounds are gross when it's open.
I don't like others being noisy eaters but it doesn't bother me if I'm noisy.

I noticed that .... they will cut up things like meat / chicken then eat using a fork only ..

There’s no possible reason for eating with your mouth open, it’s a horrible habit

I eat with my mouth close out of habit
Yeah, I eat with my mouth closed. It's disgusting to see the contents of peoples mouths when they are eating...and I can't stand it when people slurp their soup. :fist:

Can't stand noisy eaters, slurpers or sniffers....really puts me off my food and drives me mad

I’m totally with you on the sniffling thing. Sometimes even the look of someone continually rubbing their noses (without hearing them actually sniff) can be annoying. I kind of wish people would learn to carry Kleenex with them and blow their noses instead of snorting up what sounds like it could be coke every two seconds. Some people almost have a ‘sniffing Tourette’s’ and it isn’t very cool. So many people out there want to do something about their nose health but sniff incessantly instead.
What about if you're pi55ed after a night out and are having a doner kebab, surely you make noises then?

I knew I mentioned this sniffing thing somewhere. People who can’t leave their noses alone are very irritating.
