An official said that the men would have one month to appeal against their sentence and, if an appeal were accepted, they could receive a life or 25-year prison sentence instead of the death penalty.
I'd prefer death to a life sentence.

Possible prisoner swap
is the solution.

Can we not just send Kay Burley and Piers Morgan in exchange..

I don't think they will actually be killed, there'll be an appeal and they'll be given life sentences instead as 'a great show of clemency'
Difficult for the UK though because if they put a lot of effort into getting their release it backs up the idea they're British mercenaries (whereas actually both are members of the Ukrainian military) and it raises the awkward prospect of contacting people in the DPR which gives legitimacy to their fake country. Also difficult for Ukraine because why should they put extra effort into freeing these three compared to the hundreds of others captured

They Lived there
then Joined to Kill Russians

Yes exactly so they should be treated like any other member of the Ukrainian military but Russia say they're not entitled to POW status as 'mercenaries'

Russians have Killed many of them
that they captured.
Yes, Russia has it own Laws
UN is useless
i don't think they will be spared unless Russia gain a big propaganda victory, and the west just can't allow that

They have an appeal going on.
But the West can not stop them, shooting them dead.
It could be the Ukrainian Army to do an Exchange
for the 3 of them.

Slim
Both of them live in Ukraine.
i do remember Truss saying it was perfectly fine for uk people to go over there and fight, but these 2 people were already living in ukraine at the start of the war

She never told them to go...she said she supported people who decided to go.

Its minor, but also annoying.
