View Full Version : Your cheapest/most expensive pint
Currently enjoying a lovely pint of Thatchers watching a local cricket game which the club bar sells for £2.50, cheapest pint I've had in a long time outside of Wetherspoons where I sometimes go for the £1.99 Stowfords
My most expensive pint recently was at a gig at the O2 in London, think it was £7.50. You get one round in and you've nearly spent £50 already. Think the most I ever paid was at JFK Airport where it was something like $17 dollars a beer. Ended up having two rounds for some reason  I once almost spent €20 euros on a beer in a bar while skiing as well but luckily noticed the prices just before I ordered. You see all these people in the bar though drinking champagne and stuff and must have been paying hundreds for it, it's totally obscene
What's the least and most you've ended up paying for a pint recently (or other drinks)
Thursday night Pound a pint at The Tower club in Hull.
Most expensive was probably at Wembley stadium, I think it was £5.50 and it came in a plastic vessel which makes it go flat.
That's not that recent though because I haven't been in a pub for about 3 years.
Yeah that takes the mick even more how the most expensive pints will typically be in stupid squidgy cups and they won't pour a full pint but venues always will charge rip off prices I guess

Just back from my golf Holiday and pints were £2.50 to £3.10 generally
Expensive drinks...2 vodka and coke, £31 in the Westbury in mayfair....I nearly shat in my pants!
£8 for a can of stella at a madness concert on clapham common.
Cheapest...78p for a tennents 70 shilling in 1986 when the barmaid used to rub your chin for your age ID.

I've missed you, hope you had a good holiday, and I hope you evaded the winds.
What was your average score?

We play Stableford and i averaged 32 points over games. I usually go round in low 80s in strokeplay

Those plastic glasses killed me last weekend when I was working behind a bar at an annual event.
I'm so heavy handed I kept squeezing them to much while filling them. I got so bored after a while I just did it to watch the entertaining froth assembling in front of me.
Do they really sell pints for 1. 99 in wetherspoons?
I've never been in one.

I do that all the time, often convinced the glass has a crack in it but it's actually just my clumsy big hands squeezing them too much while carrying
They've been doing a few pints for £1.99 but think it's mainly been a promotion on their new pints and it does vary from Spoons to Spoons. Doubt you'd get a £1.99 pint in any city centre
How have you never been to a Spoons??

Not surprising :joker:
I spent £33 on a double cognac and contreau. Which is £10 more than Thomas spent on his most expensive drink.
That puts me top of the table, beat that.

Been looking at menus of places I'm visiting on london on holiday. Was shocked that some of them are charging over 7 quid for a pint!! Really?!?!?

I remember the days of £1-a-pint at Uni :flutter:. Not even LEGAL any more because of minimum unit pricing. You could go out and get decently merry AND a burger on the way home for under £10.
Last time I went out for a few drinks, it was like £4 minimum per drink and my burger and chips was £14 D:.

When we went out for my wife's 30th (and this is 5 years back) we went to a "more expensive" bar (the sort of place I would normally never bother with). I casually went up to the bar and ordered my double Jack Daniels with coke. ... ... £11.50! £11.50!!. For a ****ing Jack and Coke!
I mean, on my mate's stag night his hubby-to-be called one of the bars we were at and ordered us these crushed ice gin & tonic cocktails that were like £12 each - and they were amazing so I kind of get it. Not something I'd do regularly as it seems like a huge money sink for a drink... but it was a bit "special".
But £11.50 for a couple of shots of cheap whiskey and draft coke...
... that's just taking the absolute piss.
To go back to Uni days again - Double JD+coke in a scratched plastic cup for £2. Magic :joker:.
Yesterday I was at the O2 arena in London for Country 2 Country festival - £8 a pint :skull: we were there 2pm till midnight so that was a very expensive day
Today I was at West Ham and that was £6.75 which felt like a bargain after the O2!

You were never paying £14 for burger and chips? That sounds crazy even for central London standards.

A pint for me at Ibrox in the bar is £4.95 but I get 2 drinks vouchers and programmes as we enter the bar. . So i get 2 free pints and smallest boy LT gets to drink half and then he pours it in mine :hee:
Often we dont bother so we just give the vouchers to some random Bears who are always pleased.

I have been thinking I should get a hip flask although in the case of this weekend it would have been picked up by the scanners in the O2 and at London stadium

That's good value, Scotland seems to be the place to be for a well priced pint
I did get a pint just round the corner from the ground today for a fiver which is good by London standards

I took a hip flask into Wembley in 2017.
We did get pat down search. I put the hipflask in the back of my sock. The searcher actually did touch it, thankfully I got a moron that was useless at his job and he didn't even realise, he must have thought it was the back of my shoe he touched.
