Cameroon v Serbia & South Korea v Ghana were pretty entertaining.
Intriguing if correct ..
##
The Belgian squad sounds like it is totally divided. Eden Hazard apparently had a massive row with Vertonghan and Lukaku had to separate them. Hazard and Trossard also hate each other and Courtois and De Bruyne have never liked each other

By and large though I feel like the matches have been very cagey.

it's what happens when great players get past their prime particularly when they have underachieved throughout their entire international careers. Spain, Italy, germany, france and the netherlands have all suffered similar fate

Spain ?
They won the World Cup and a couple of Euros I think , in fairly recent times
Spain’s lasting problem is they haven’t had a goal scorer since David Villa retired.

Gakpo for top goalscorer!!!! up his price in the transfer market a bit more pls
PSV should not let him leave anywhere lower than 85 or 90 million, if Ajax got 100 for Antony ;)

there have been so many dodgy penalties and goals disallowed, when the stakes get really high in the knockouts there will be fights

feel like Denmark's coach might be getting sacked, that is underachieving at some of the worst underachievings in world cup history, from a nation who performed very well at last euro's
on paper, denmark were the favourites, but tbh i knew they would lose based on their form this tournament
Ridiculous

Belgium more shocking not making knockout phase than Germany with all honesty
same coach, more or less same squad as 2018 with 3rd place, and this time flopping big time, how and why?
Hansi Flick should not be sacked, i mean Joachim Low also got many many chances from DFB anyway
good on Roberto Martinez for resigning himself, he had a long spell with the devils anyway, but i don't think they would've sacked him, not immediately anyway
as for Denmark's Kasper Hjulmand, i can see him staying, based on recent euro's success and there'll be lots renewals within the players squad i think
Yikes .. Spurs star striker Son is gonna come up against the ever thuggish Pepe in a few minutes ..

It has been very surprising and quite entertaining.
Ronaldo has now rightly been given that goal.
It was obvious it hit his hair, I've been in that situation and you can feel the ball flick the tip of your hair, and that is why king Ronaldo rightly swerved away to celebrate in his enigmatic style.

It’s not the first time he’s tried to nick a goal off a teammate… look on YouTube
So they have relented because Portugal complained !!?
Wonder how that makes Bruno feel
Despite all the technology saying otherwise !?!
So was that ball out of play last night against Spain ?

or Australia delivering an upset to Argentina, i mean they have one job, block Messi, and all others are pretty much useless without him in form ;)
Netherlands is the favourite against USA but this whole tournament they haven't played too convincing and that in a very weak group a, whereas US remained standing against England with that good 0-0 (really hope Pulisic can play, he and Gakpo played together here in the PSV youth team a nice fun fact) and Gregg Berhalter and Louis van Gaal have a past at Sparta Rotterdam
France having a easy one, vs sweaty mcsweatface manager and Poland :hehe:
England on paper should easily beat Senegal but Senegal this tournament have proven to themselves they can win without their big star Sadio Mané and their coach Aliou Cisse btw is quite the cult icon there
Japan can beat Croatia, but will be a close call match that one i think
Brazil is the heavy favourite against South Korea and now with their A squad compared to yesterday against Cameroon when most of the reserves played, feel sad though yesterday for Dani Alves but i thought he himself played decently for his age
Morocco and Spain, the moroccans have what it takes to deliver a upset, but i don't easily rule out Spain, also LOL at Luis Enrique not been aware they were eliminated for 3 minutes during costa rica germany game when costa rica were ahead :joker:
Portugal and Switzerland, Portugal have Ronaldo but the Swiss got more of a team and powerhouses Xhaka, Xhaqiri, Embolo, Sommer, Akanji tough to predict that one

Arsenal’s Jesus is out of the World Cup :(
It’s like I predicted after the first couple of games .. the refs are letting too much go .
The cynical players know they can whack a few even injure them ( Neymar now Jesus ) without even getting a warning !!
Two of the world’s best forwards are now effectively out of the WC .
Also Messi and Mitrovic , Foden , Kane plus tigers are all carrying ankle / foot injuries.

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has denied that Cristiano Ronaldo threatened to leave the World Cup.
Portuguese publication Record claims the forward, 37, made the threat after being told he would not start their last-16 game against Switzerland.
In the previous game against South Korea, the Portugal captain reacted angrily when he was substituted.
The FPF said: "At no time did Cristiano Ronaldo threaten to leave the national team during the stay in Qatar."

it's exactly what he would do, so i dont believe the FPF
England winger Raheem Sterling is to return to Qatar before Saturday's World Cup quarter-final against France.
The Chelsea player, 28, flew back to England on Sunday following a break-in at his family home in Surrey.
Sterling's spokesperson said he left the England camp to "prioritise the wellbeing" of his three young children.
He missed England's 3-0 win over Senegal in the last 16, but is expected to rejoin the squad in Al Wakrah on Friday.

What a load of sh1te!!
The worst display of reffing from the ever useless English referee
He failed to punish all the ridiculously cynical Croatian tackles , failed to give that handball penalty .. in fact the guy was booked then handled unintentionally in the box ( still a penalty though ) then committed two more bookable fouls that went unpunished . Then the ref fell for a ridiculous dive to get Casemiro booked that reduced his effectiveness .
Moderic body checked and stamped on his teammates ( Rodrygos foot halting a breakaway attack and left the Brazilian limping - Modric not even booked
The only bonus was it makes it more easier for Messi to win the World Cup !
