Australia being here at a world cup for 6th time in a row already is amazing :clap2:
France is not unstoppable far from, they rely on their powerhouse Mbappe too much, but otherwise they are kinda average, were also flopping in nations league, close to relegation into division B, rowing into the same boat as England more or less for now

Guus Hiddink had joined Australia's staff team as an advisor
the one who became a legend in South Korea after their surprise long run in the 2002 world cup
Nicky91
22-09-2022, 01:53 PM
fun fact
Graham Arnold (now manager) had been Hiddink's assistent back when he was australia manager
and Guus is his advisor
technical staff socceroos
manager: Graham Arnold
assistent: Rene Meulensteen
advisor: Guus Hiddink
assistent: Tony Vidmar
goalkeeping coach: John Crawley
fitness coach: Fabian Ehrmann
technical consultant: Ron Smith
soccer is really starting to become more and more popular over there
their most experienced, most capped players currently are
Matthew Ryan (GK) 75 caps (FC Copenhagen)
Trent Sainsbury (DF) 61 caps (Al-Wakrah)
Aaron Mooy (MF) 53 caps (Celtic)
Mathew Leckie (FW) 72 caps, 13 goals (Melbourne City)
as preparation for them, they are going to play two friendlies vs New Zealand today and the 25th september
4 times winner of Oceania Cup, 1 time champion of Asian Cup
1 time runner up, 1 third place in Confederations Cup
and this is literally their 5th appearance in world cup in a row and 6th appearance in total
has been a solid top 50 nation in the FIFA Rankings since 2016 basically

Yes, that was impressive.
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:14 PM
am thankful these are two opponents of australia somehow
not very impressive from denmark, and tunisia well decent but not good
am curious for tonight, what we can do against a more weakened france (without benzema, kante, pogba whom are tbh real superstars and big misses for les bleus)
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:15 PM

i see Cornelius warming up
Nicky91

Cornelius for Skov Olsen
Mathias Jensen for Kjaer
Lindstrom for Dolberg
3 fresh players for denmark
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:27 PM
Tunisia sub time
Sliti for Ben Slimane
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:29 PM
great shot from Eriksen, and a great save from Dahmen
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:30 PM
what a header from Kristensen and barely not a goal, Cornelius couldn't get to the ball in time, before a tunisian defender
Crimson Dynamo
22-11-2022, 02:31 PM
If Tunisia score there will be a riot :joker:

good var, wasn't a penalty for denmark, mejbri went for the ball with that sliding, good defending from a attacking player
Nicky91
22-11-2022, 02:47 PM
Khenissi yellow for what? :conf:
they both went for the ball, and then collisions can happen
Nicky91

i'm deffo gonna stand up and sing along to australian fair
France, well Benzema is way more consistent than Mbappe (Mbappe is just more overhyped) N'Golo Kante is a worldclass defensive midfielder and Pogba is a creative genius, missing those 3 is painful for sure

as expected a France win, but not a deserved score, 4-1 is too flattered, Australia wasn't bad and France wasn't fully dominating this game
unfortunate that Mbappe had to score  him continuing to be overhyped more and more
yes sort out the errors in defence, be more clinical than denmark was, and i'm seeing some chances against tunisia, there were definitely good bits in this first group match, just a shame first group match nerves got the upper hand with Atkinson and Irvine
Ryan made some decent saves too i thought
Aussies could've been 0-2 ahead with that long distance shot which was very close, and also very close call header (just unlucky, where mbappe was more lucky with his header goal)
despite this loss, i remain quite optimistic, and as for our two refugees, Mabil and Kuol, and Kuol especially i get why they call him a supertalent, he did well in the minutes he played, funny story too, beginning barefoot in refugee camps playing soccer :D

feeling nervous :(
idk what the best approach for the socceroos would be, be careful i'd say, proper defending, and counter offensives might be best strategy here, a point is enough, and we all know denmark so far this tournament haven't been in their most top form either, also not very clinical in front of goal, so stay close on top of the danish forwards, look for any gaps in their midfield, defence and try to break through
France should do well against Tunisia in their current form, even if they're already through, i can still see them winning because basically they always want to go for the win
those 3 points for us against tunisia were oh so important and pls don't let them be for nothing, i love Graham being such a passionate manager as well

Mandanda also got plenty of experience
Coman from the start is also decent
they still have Varane anyway again, his second starting 11 place of the world cup now
Camavinga, Tchouameni are also huge supertalents
and a new zealand ref, so pls help out your friends the aussies here too by gifting a penalty to france :fc:
Nicky91
30-11-2022, 02:45 PM
a fact about Mandanda especially
Mandanda spent most of his professional career with Marseille, making over 600 appearances across all competitions in two spells with the club, and was voted Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year five times.
Since his debut in 2008, Mandanda has represented France at six international tournaments: four UEFA European Championships (2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020) and three FIFA World Cups (2010, 2018, 2022), winning the tournament in 2018.
so yeah Lloris might be the no.1 goalie, but he is not an unknown either, just proves how much of a worldclass goalie Lloris basically is, if he keeps a veteran like Steve behind him as the second choice
as expected its the france B team
as expected its the france B team
We should have done that to give the ‘chosen’ ones a rest , protect them from injury plus give the fringe players a huge boost
