one group to follow for me
i like Belgium's red devils, i find Morocco having quite a lot of talented players as well
i like Croatia a lot, and i love Canada making their world cup debut this year
going to be a tough one here i think

Belgium winner with little effort
Croatia 2nd
Morocco 3rd
Canada 4th

one with many close calls for sure
Belgium 1st (i guess based on talent and experience)
Morocco 2nd (the talent is there but will they perform well under pressure, time will tell)
Croatia 3rd
Canada 4th (although 4th, not an easy 4th for me, they are the dark horse debut outsiders they could easily surprise a la new zealand with few draws)

Morocco have sacked their coach Vahid Halilhodzic
https://www.yahoo.com/now/morocco-sack-coach-vahid-halilhodzic-133305590.html
The announcement by the Moroccan football federation on Thursday ends months of speculation over the fate of the Franco-Bosnian coach, who has now suffered the extraordinary feat of being fired three times by national teams after they qualified for World Cup finals.
"Given the differences and divergent visions between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and national coach Vahid Halilhodzic on the best way to prepare the national football team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the two parties decided to separate," the federation said in a statement.
Halilhodzic's possible departure had been the cause of much speculation since Morocco's tepid showing at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in January and, in particular, his fall out with star midfielder Hakim Ziyech.
Last year Halilhodzic accused the Chelsea player of feigning injury to miss out on mid-year friendly matches and left him out of the World Cup qualifying campaign and the Cup of Nations finals.
But federation president Fouzi Lekjaa has been pressing for a return of the Dutch-born midfielder amid a public outcry at his absence, putting him at odds with his coach, who was appointed to the Morocco job three years ago.
Halilhodzic's brusque manner was cited as the reason for Japan firing him after he had qualified them for the last World Cup in Russia.
He was dismissed just two months before the 2018 finals with the Japanese Football Association citing "communication" problems and claiming he had lost the trust of his players.
Halilhodzic, who played for Yugoslavia at the 1982 World Cup and was later a successful striker in France, was also dismissed by the Ivory Coast ahead of the 2010 finals in South Africa and replaced by Sven Goran Eriksson. That came after the Ivorians had fared poorly at the Cup of Nations finals some six months before the World Cup.
He did take Algeria to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where they came close to an upset victory over Germany in the last 16.
Morocco is expected to name its former international Walid Regragui as its new coach. He led Wydad Casablanca to the African Champions League crown in May.

Why is it showing as Mar v Cro on ITV ..
This is nearly as bad as Micky D’s going around the advertising hoardins at one of the matches, hopefully fixed by now
How was that not a yellow for Modric ?
Late and dangerous tackle from the side .
That’s three bad tackles just from Modric
Ref does nothing ..

The explanation of the MAR country code is similar to Iceland’s, although a bit more fraught. While the country’s English name is Morocco, the country is known as Maroc in French. Starting in the early 1800s, France expanded its colonial empire to North Africa, where it established a protectorate in what is now Morocco. Morocco achieved national independence in 1956, but the French influence persists in the country. Today, Morocco’s official languages are Arabic and Tamazight (an indigenous language in the region), but French continues to hold a powerful position in the country as a holdover from the colonial era.
Country codes are mostly used in international sporting events because they are useful for distinguishing between countries whose names differ across languages. Having a unique country code ensures that participants at the World Cup or the Olympics don’t get tripped up with language barriers and always have a clear-cut, standardized way to communicate when referring to other countries.
FIFA sets its own codes, but they mostly align with other common country code designations, such as those set by the International Olympic Committee. Occasionally, there are differences between a country’s three-letter FIFA code and its IOC code (such as Bahrain, which is known as BHR by FIFA and BRN by the IOC). Morocco, however, is known as MAR by both of these sports associations.
The other primary country code database is run by the International Organization for Standardization, which, among its other global standardization projects, assigns each member country a unique three-letter country code (known as its ISO alpha-3 code), a two-letter country code (its ISO alpha-2 code, which is also used for international package shipping), and a three-digit numeric code. Countries’ ISO alpha-3 codes sometimes differ from the codes set by FIFA and the IOC; Portugal, which is known as POR by both FIFA and the IOC, is referred to as PRT by the ISO. Morocco’s ISO alpha-3 code is still MAR.

21 goal attempts and not a single goal is pretty poor. Don’t get me wrong Canada made Belgium work hard for that result but if they were more clinical in front of goal they could’ve easily won that game 2-1 or 3-1.

One of the annoying things about the commentators is how much they don't understand the technology being used.
i think the commentators are more out of their depth at this tournament than i have ever experienced before
the good news is that morocco are still ahead
Belgium are so bad, just pass it amongst themselves in their own half. Like someone said last game it's like walking football
Yeah i was just gonna comment on how poor they are. They need a win, yet no urgency, no passion, no grit, no determination, it's like a training session for them.

They keep going on about how Wales did great to get to the world cup, that maybe the case, but they were piss poor during it. They were given every chance to qualify, Iran and the USA are no world beaters. Yet Wales lost to Iran, only scored one goal which was a pen, drawing against an average USA team. And got thrashed by England.
Wrong thread, but they're talking about it now. Wales were crap, and failed miserably.

I feel like Belgium play him too deep personally, just let him do his great passing and attacking that he does for Man City.
