Wrong Sam Zizu

Sam Fender has been getting bigger for a long time now - he has had a number of singles this year and is quite big on the "Indie" scene. 17 Going Under was his biggest single recently

Can't wait for Friday to watch. Some people I know have gone - so jealous.

Billie Eilish, Diana Ross, Kendrick Lamar, HAIM, Jessie Ware, Roisin Murphy, TLC, Leon Bridges, Supergrass, Noel Gallagher... The list goes on of those I'll be watching. Awesome lineup.

The weather is glorious but they've now forecast bad storms all over England coming soon. Oops...

Crimson Dynamo

there is a chance they could get clobbered with a T storm tomorrow that could dump 60mm of rain on them

that would be rather fun

I’m kinda nervous for Paul McCartney .. I saw him sing live on telly about 10 years ago and his voice had gone by then .. can’t see how things have improved over the last ten years .. especially as he’s supposedly doing a 2hour 15 minutes set

So how did it go for Miss Eilish?

I've tried looking for comments on her performance on twitter but all there is is chat about her being the youngest headliner and that she condemned the Wade vs Roe decision. Nothing much about her actual performance. Did she nail it? Did she put on a great spectacle? Is she a new Madonna? Or is she just a new Avril Levigne?

Alf

She is on point woke - trendy girl punk. There was a lot of "track" as she only has 2 musicians and one is a drummer.

Noisy, highly tuned no melody, just a lot of shouting

But the young kids loved it in the audience or so it seemed.

Think if I was there I'd be put off all the headliners by the sheer scale of the crowds anyway tbhThe Beatles will always carry power. They're the biggest selling artists of all time and have had the most number 1 hits of all time and they were only performing for less than 10 years. Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Eminem and anyone else you could mention would Only be supporting acts to The Beatles. They're number 1 in music. The ultimate headline act. There is nobody to top them.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProPopular music started going downhill when music videos came in. Now they prefer people who look good over talent. The biggest stars today are Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber and that says it all. They're adults singing like they're high School pupils. They have no talent, character or heart and soul, they just look pretty and pick up millions of pounds for that.

You can still get some talent but they don't do as well as the pretty people in most instances.

I wanna see an 80 year old rocking Glastonbury on a Saturday night.

What's the hour delay for? Are they gonna auto-tune him or is it incase he drops dead?

80 years old and he plays almost a 3 hour set none stop including some of the greatest songs ever written, brings out Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen, plays with a virtual John Lennon and you have the audacity to knock it.

Paul McCartney, Glastonbury review: One of the all-time great Pyramid Stage sets

5 stars

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/music/2022/06/26/TELEMMGLPICT000300888160_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqOjwtMIB fBvsmIG0UzgZgYKAezwuvexs_ues-aCB_TCg.jpeg?imwidth=800

Over three golden hours that featured a duet with John Lennon, McCartney
served up one absolutely storming classic after another

Sir Paul McCartney delivered one of the most thrilling, uplifting, banger-filled,
star-studded sets this 50-plus-year-old festival had ever seen, including a
duet with John Lennon from beyond the grave, more pyrotechnics than a
Hollywood disaster movie and a climactic guitar battle with not one but two
superstars of different American rock generations: Bruce Springsteen and
Dave Grohl.

I feel sorry for those that left half way through and missed the second half of it.

The crowd singing the "na na na na Hey Jude" was something special.

The only negative for me was McCartney bringing on the Ukraine flag and waving it around, but you can't have everything and he is a celebrity so I expect things like that from them. I don't have to like the person to appreciate the art that they produce.

He's had some great reviews,I suppose peoples taste are different depending on who they like,I heard the same about Diana Ross, I say fair play to them all,Paul was on stage for 3 hours plus, fabulous for his age as is Mick Jagger who is doing Hyde Park. Would love to have been there.

It is impressive to play for 3 hours at his age but does anyone really want to see a set that long? There's a reason people normally don't. If I was watching that I'd be a little bored and exhausted of him by the end. Especially when if you're in a good spot to watch there's no real prospect of being able to leave for a drink or go to the toilet etc.
