View Full Version : Rooney has left Derby
Wayne Rooney has told troubled Derby County that he wishes to be "relieved of his duties as first-team manager" with immediate effect.
The 36-year-old's contract with the club had another year to run.
The Rams have been in administration since September last year and were relegated to League One last season.
"I feel the club now needs to be led by someone with fresh energy and not affected by events that have happened over the last 18 months," he said.

Hasn't he only recently committed to staying there? Genuine question as I'm not sure.

They've already got a new manager though, poached him off Forest Green :fist:

Cheers. It became one of those things where I wasn't sure if I'd heard it or made it up!

With Watfords track record the position will be vacant again soon tbf
Or maybe the Everton job will come up again before too long..

The Blues job is available once the Bassini takeover happens.
And then he'll have wished that he'd stayed at Derby.:joker:
But being serious I'm guessing that something has changed behind the scenes for such a sudden change of heart.

think Rooney will be Gareth's replacement at England
with Queiroz as more experienced assistant manager next to him, Carlos and Wayne also know each very well from their United days with Wayne playing under him and Sir Alex
Carlos also got plenty of national team coaching experience, Mozambique, Iran, Portugal
let's see if i'm going to be proven correct
