[Fat-shaming Paramedic who branded
his female colleague a 'fat porker'
and questioned her diet is suspended for
bullying... after claiming his insults were
actually meant to be 'Helpful'
Paul Winfield fat-shamed a colleague
and offered to buy her bigger trousers
He said his remarks were 'banter
' and accused NHS bosses of a 'conspiracy'
The paramedic claimed free speech
but has been suspended from the register
Do you know Paul Winfield?]
I guess it is a form of bullying

Calling someone "a fat porker" is just straight up bullying arista.

It's absolutely bullying. BUT don't paramedics have to be at least somewhat in shape? They could be getting into all sorts of situations and location in their line of work.

It depends on the context - if its 2 who have been together for ages and like each other it could be just banter. If this lady does not like this man and they have no relationship then its bang out of order.

*reads article....
The following month, Mr Winfield said to his female colleague 'Look at the *******ing state of you. You need to lose weight' and said she was a '*******ing fat porker'.
It was around this time that he asked her if she was on a diet and touched her bottom 'to make a point about the tightness of the trousers'.
Later that month, he suggested to his colleague that she needed bigger trousers, then tried to give her a pair of large men's trousers.
The original tribunal heard he said: 'I'm not sure if it's your trousers that are too small or if it's your fat arse?'

If he said it to a male colleague he probably would have gotten away with it,but even then it's not really something you'd joke about unless you have that type of rapport or banter with someone I guess.
Deserves the sacking, and a good smack in the mouth.
