They haven't "gone downhill" he's been doing these things since the beginning e.g. having sex with 14-year-old Aaliyah when he was 26. Sex predator his entire adult life.

None to both. Sentences are individual to every case. We're often left baffled at how somebody gets xx years, whilst another with a similar crime gets less. It's always been this way.

I think the biggest difference from what I can tell is that Maxwell was more of an accomplice in her case, where as R Kelly was the instigator of his.

I could be wrong, but I think that might be why there is a 10 year difference in their sentencing.

What's weird is ,him marrying Aliyah when she was 15 was ignored . I know she sadly passed away in her 20s . But if she was still around ..it makes you wonder what she would say about all this. Because it sounds like he was doing alot of abuse & grooming.

I bet if he married someone like Britney or Christina Aguilera when they were underage,then he would have been in trouble.
