TBF, it can't be an easy job. Having to repeat the same stuff and buy time waiting until he comes out.
What else are they suppose to say? They can only report and speak about what has happened or is going to happen.
Talking slowly buys time. ...so much to think about and remember and then be able to articulate that...not easy at all.
Ohh and also being live, having someone speak to in your ear piece at the same time and then things which just happen because you're live

I doubt there was ever a PM who didn’t lie about something. They are human, and it would be a miracle if they got through their years in office without having to bluff their way through some dodgy decision or other. The problem is, there were too many sharks wanting Boris’s downfall so his lies were exposed and blown up out of proportion.
If it had suited them not to expose him, we’d never have known a thing…and really, he had a lot more to deal with (Brexit, pandemic, the economy, war) than how long he was at a party or who was feeling somebody’s ass (does the government not have an HR department to deal with complaints like this?)

Majority of Brits want to see a caretaker PM replace Boris Johnson
A majority of Britons want a caretaker PM to replace Boris Johnson while his permanent successor is elected, according to a snap poll conducted by YouGov.
The survey found that 56 per cent of people want to see an interim PM.
Just under a third (32 per cent) said Mr Johnson should remain in No 10 while a successor is elected.
Almost eight in 10 people - 77 per cent - believe Mr Johnson was right to resign as PM.
Just over a third of people - 36 per cent - believe Mr Johnson has been a "terrible" premier.

I do however think the Tories do need to stand by one of their leaders, because they do have a habit of snaking them rather than riding the storm with their leaders.

Conservatives got absolutely destroyed in 1997 election.
we aligned the pound with the euro and it was an unmitigated disaster because Soros manipulated the exchange rate. It cost us a fortune.
Then all of Majors cabinet aligned against him prompting his recorded expletive laden outburst. Of course we found out later, that was the time period he was having an affair with Edwina Curry ...... those were the days

Hard to know, people have short memories in politics and the next election is over two years away still. I think Boris' popularity was pretty typical for a government in power and actually held up pretty well given the difficult backdrop
As hated as he was he also inspired considerable support in a sizeable amount of the population, much more than any of his rivals would imo

Well, quite.
Boris wasn't the only one making light of the situation when it came to light, with comments like "Pincher by name, pincher by nature" when it came to light. Male victims are often trivialised, such as people turning that circumstance into a joke, and saying things like "lucky lad!" when a female teacher molests a male student.

It's why it is always good to not dehumanize people in Politics.
Photos like this make you realise that Boris is actually a Human Being.
I'm genuinely curious about Winnie The Pooh for China though.
The Media started turning on him and they decide who the people vote for.
Whenever people have a perception of someone it's always through the media, who was favouring Starmer over Boris.
They will turn on Starmer if he ever becomes PM

Ok, he wasn't horrendous. He did 'slightly' a TINY BIT more for the poor and immigrants. Lets be fair. But yes, he's a joke and TRUE Tory. So glad he's gone. Or going!
He needs to go now. Lets give Labour a go if they sort their sh!t?

James Cleverly is a total incompetent. He was incapable of explaining the situation. Boris resigned as leader of the tory party yesterday, thats all
Once he is no longer the leader of the party, he cannot make any major policy decisions. There is also the safety net that anything new or changed has to go to parliament for approval, and the tory mp's wont let him do anything. so he is a caretaker now because he can't do anything new, he can only monitor items already in progress

I don't really see the issue with saying an item of clothing resembles something else - wearing a grey trenchcoat might make you look like a detective, a tailcoat might make you look like a magician, apparently my favourite beanie makes me look like a malformed penis, and burkas look like letterboxes

Even when it's deragatory?
You don't see how how being called a letter box because you wear a burka wrong?
However none of those examples you just gave are deragatory apart from the burka one.
So you're basically saying we can call people what we want as long as it's factually correct? We can go around calling people fat and disabled because it's factually correct? Even though it may cause extreme offence.
Absolutely ridiculous attitude you have.

Free speech does not allow comments which can cause alarm and distress as that is a criminal offence or hate crime.
Regardless, it doesn't make it right whether it breaks the law or not.

PACE;
F14AIntentional harassment, alarm or distress.
(1)A person is guilty of an offence if, with intent to cause a person harassment, alarm or distress, he—
(a)uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b)displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting,
So actually it could well indeed be breaking the law and free speech will not always apply

We have Labour Mayor who is a media *****. Burnham was always going to jump all over it and pass his failings on to central Government. Just like he did over the controversial Green Air Zone that he was trying to pass as a stealth congestion charge. The only council in the UK to try to bring in the charges but still tried to blame the Gov! The MEN always backs him....his PR team is pretty robust
New education minister Andrea Jenkyns says she raised her middle finger to a crowd outside Downing Street as a response to a "baying mob".
Social media footage showed the MP gesturing shortly before Boris Johnson's resignation.
Explaining her actions, she said a group outside the gates were "insulting MPs... as is sadly all too common".
She said she should have shown more composure "but is only human".
1545665901021827072
Ms Jenkyns said she had gone to Downing Street to watch the prime minister's resignation speech on Thursday afternoon.
After a morning marked by increasing numbers of resignations from government, No 10 announced that Boris Johnson would be standing down.
Crowds celebrating his imminent departure then gathered in the area.
Ms Jenkyns was also heard to shout as she left Downing Street following Mr Johnson's speech.
In videos recorded of her leaving, she told the crowd: "He who laughs last, laughs loudest. Wait and see."
In a statement on Twitter, Ms Jenkyns said she had received "huge amounts of abuse from some of the people who were there over the years".
She added: "I have also had seven death threats in the last four years. Two of which have been in recent weeks and are currently being investigated by the police, I had reached the end of my tether.
"I responded and stood up for myself. Just why should anyone have to put up with this kind of treatment."

There’s a video of her doing this and she was openly taunting them before she even gave the crowd the finger, she’s a Trump supporter, is anything else expected of her?
To be fair that makes no sense ..
It’s far more likely that she along with the others were simply walking past the crowd when a minority started abusing them

The type of people who show up to abuse and boo the PM on an occasion like that can be really nasty and toxic, pretty true to form they're outraged by a middle finger though whilst they're happy to intimidate and bully female MPs
Exactly .. after all they didn’t go all that way to simply appreciate or cheer her fashion sense .. they went to abuse and cause a cafuffle

Bad move flipping the bird. Bob Geldof lost the the referendum for the Remoaners doing something similar.

Grown men shouting toxic vile abuse at MPS
Do they forget about Jo Cox?
utterly contemptible
Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years because she apparently was trafficking children to nobody.
Your media doesn't want to find out who she was trafficking these children for. They want to create smokescreens like this instead.
