seeing a lot of promo for this series, has anyone from here watched it? if so is it any good?


i'm tempted to give this a go, since i always have liked stuff from Steve Martin

it's so hilarious, great combo of comedy and detective genre :love:

chemistry between Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, Martin Short also very much amazing


nice guest role from Sting too, also a role from Nathan Lane (he looks almost the same only older compared to what i know him best from the classic comedy Mousehunt)

not going too much into spoiling it


but i can tease we have quite a lot of very big name actors guest starring into season 3 too

we have (Ant-Man) Paul Rudd, legendary Meryl Streep in a amazing role too


in Ep7 we had cameo's from top actors like Matthew Broderick, and also 97 yr old Comedy Legend Mel Brooks :worship: :clap1: :clap1:

another fantastic ep


first rehearsal of Oliver's play with the orchestra


and omg what is Meryl such a superb actress in literally everything you throw at her, she deffo deserves an Emmy nomination for this role for sure


idk who the murderer is yet, i doubt its Loretta and also not sure anymore regarding Dickie (considering he is Loretta's son) makes sense for her to cover for him so he doesn't have to go to the police station, i still don't trust the musical director duo and mainly the mommy Donna, whom more is in this because of her son, but she hated this play to begin with, motive for poisoning Ben :think: that didn't work so she pushed him down the elevator shaft, could be, now i'm speculating myself :joker:

everyone can have different opinions, tastes


but tbh this is a quality comedy-detective series


Season 1 is also good yes, but seasons 2 and 3 are better


one of the best parts of the first season, i find Nathan Lane's sign language performance with his character's son




it has an 8.1 score on IMDB, very much deserved if you ask me



Steve's humour is something i always quite liked, also in the Cheaper by the Dozen films or as Inspector Clouseau in Pink Panther :love:


Martin Short i myself have liked since Inner Space and his role on Mars Attacks him seduced by that female alien in the white house :laugh2:


and this was a project been thought about 10 years ago



their chemistry with Selena Gomez is literally amazing, Mabel's dad in flashbacks being played by Mark Consuelos (yup, Riverdale's Hiram Lodge)

very strong household name, from the family comedy film franchise Cheaper by the Dozen, and Father of the Bride, as well as Pink Panther as Inspector Clouseau


this series making him also shine again with his music talents, i mean ''Angel in Flip Flops'' and ''Which of the Pickwick Triplets'' are good songs


as well as his cute love scenes with Andrea Martin (Aunt Voula in Big Fat Greek Wedding) as his stylist

whom still looks good on the screen as well, 96 yrs old when he filmed his scene for this

very good episode this one, with the photoshoot of our trio with the film adaptation versions of them

yes those sisters could be the killers :think:




btw about Dudenoff, the mysterious unseen older character that apartment belongs to, wouldn't surprise me if that one will be our biggest cameo appearance so far, could see him being played by a big legend actor like Clint Eastwood (would make sense with the western intro this season as well as the cowboys we saw outside of paramount studios) or a Dick van Dyke (somehow could also see him making a sensational appearance here) or a Henry Winkler/The Fonz is who i also am thinking of since we have some tributes to certain sitcoms Perfect Strangers this season, Robert De Niro might also be someone to keep thinking of :think:

who would benefit from Sazz's death, you'd think some of the other stunt performers but honestly they were a very close family so i don't think any of them did it

maybe Sazz had debts with this ''Dudenoff'' character, and he hired one of the westies to kill her? also convenient he is never around in his apartment so it is empty and easy to break into ;)


as for the sisters, yes one of them has a matching shoe print to the one found near the window of that apartment where the killer fired at Sazz, but tbh maybe just coincidence but still it could mean the killer has a similar size shoe as that one Brothers sister so it could be to frame her :suspect:

Griffin Dunne revealed as Professor Dudenoff, good casting choice however the real dudenoff is discovered to also having been murdered and ended up in the same furnace as Sazz's body so still a mystery whoever plays the dudenoff imposter and also likely the killer


Meryl Streep's ''Uh'' over the phone, Oliver thinking she ignored him, but she was in fact on set playing a injured character in the hospital :joker: and she couldn't say anything other than Uh

first of all, the title, a very lovely tribute to Alfred Hitchcock's ''Lifeboat'' :love:



so it seems the Dudenoff, and Sazz's murder cases aren't related at all, although not directly, but Helga, who revealed to us what Sazz actually knew and her having been the target all along and not Charles

brilliant flashback scenes, as well as everyone in one location for the big reveals of the story behind the Westview residents


love the tribute to ''A Few Good Men'' either, Kumail Nanjiani doing his best Jack Nicholson impersonation ''you can't handle the truth'' scene



Eugene Levy & Steve Martin scenes once again very emotional to see them together again in something :flutter:


Martin Short & Zach Galifianakis having such amazing chemistry as well :love:

Major Spoiler in terms of plot

it seems Rex Bailey is the killer, and he is Jin, that clumsy screenwriter

and the motive is Sazz was the actual writer for the podcast's film adaptation, however Jin/Rex wanted Sazz out of the picture so he could take credit for the script work


and now Mabel is also in danger being in the same room as Jin/Rex in that dudenoff apartment




next week final episode
the conclusion, and also the wedding of Oliver Putnam and Loretta Durkin at the Arconia + we might see more celebrity cameo's there maybe among the guests :think: so they teased us
