Sorry for the morbid thread but a young boy drowned at a local lake during the week and as I was walking round this morning a tribute had been started, among the usual flowers and candles , were bottles of beer (fair enough) but also bunches of bananas and a net of oranges, I wondered if he was just a fan of these items or if they were a cultural thing to send him on his way, I don't think he was British, anyone heard of this before?

Yeah I don't know the full story but emergency services were called around midnight so I guess they were messing around as youngsters do

It's usually flowers and soft toys, and notes like 'condolences' and sorry for your loss'.
