Semi Final 5
You vote for your 5 favourites in the poll and the 5 bands with the most votes will advance to the Grand final
The poll will remain open for a week so there's no rush to cast your votes. I have posted a song from each band below just incase you need any help. Maybe you may not be aware of some of the bands and checking them out may be helpful to you. You may come across something you enjoy and want to check out more of their work before casting your final vote. of course you can just be confident with who you're going to vote for and cast your 5 votes straight away, the choice is yours.
so this is who's in this Semi Final

I wanted to vote for Madness but I needed to be patriotic to The Beautiful South because they're a Hull band and I didn't vote for The Housemartins in the earlier poll.
i went for an eclectic mix of Motorhead, Sweet and Tears for Fears

Madness (because of many fun bops)
Beautiful South (because of the majestic delight of a song, rotterdam or anywhere)
Texas (say what you want has been used as title song for one of recent dutch drama series, K van Karlijn and i love Sharleen a lot, also her solo cover work  her version of whats new pussycat is amazing)
Wolf Alice (very talented from recent years, a deserving MTV best push act winner for sure)
Should we venture into "Tibb's favourite rest of the World band" in the future?

Should we venture into "Tibb's favourite rest of the World band" in the future?
Definitely
Obviously "rest of the World" means America, Canada, Australia and Ireland.
Possibly a splattering of European like ABBA. No Dutch.

What about the herdi gerdi flerdi band? :laugh:No Dutch!
No no, no, no no no, no, no no no, no no there's a limit.
A lot of the American bands are Identified from their front man. Like Elvis Presley and the Jordanaires, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Prince and the Revolution and The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Actually The Jimi Hendrix Experience is far more a British band than it is American. Apart from Jimi, they're all British and the band was established in Britain.
So apart from the ones above who I've just mentioned give me some bands that need to be in the rest of the World favourite band poll.
Obviously
The Beach Boys
The Doors
The Velvet Underground
Jackson 5
The Eagles
The Ramones
Blondie
REM
The Pixies
Nirvana
The Foo Fighters
The White Stripes
U2
INXS
ABBA
Elvis and the Jordanaires
Buddy Holly and the Crickets
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Prince and the revolution
Pearl Jam
The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Green Day
Metallica
The Cranberries
The Corrs
Thin Lizzy
No Doubt
AC/DC
Bon Jovi
Soundgarden
Anymore suggestions?

we got plenty of bands though, past & present
past: Golden Earring, BZN, Doe Maar, Teach-In, Toontje Lager
present: Kensington, Blof, Son Mieux, Volumia, Kane, Moke, Rigby, Nick & Simon
but also plenty of folk-rock bands like Pater Moeskroen, Rowwen Heze, Snollebollekes

More like a next Pearl Jam rather than Nirvana.
Their songs really vary .. with tempo
Maybe the idea was that they’d fill the Nirvana void rather than sounding just like them ..

One of my all time favourites is Incubus but I guess nobody else even knows of them
They broke through with this mellow song with an amazing video ( with a nod to AHA ) but I guess they’re mainly associated with more rocking songs
