BBC Text:
["growing belief among ministers" that
riders should abide by the same speed
restrictions as other motorists,
amid a increase in cyclists.
The paper suggests cyclists could also
need insurance and would have to
observe speed limits under a shake-up of road laws.

I think there should be a law that if there is a cycle lane or cycle path available for Cyclists they should have to use that and not the road. Drives me ****ing mental when there's a cycle lane for cyclists and they still cycle on the road and cause massive traffic backlogs

Still a bit nuts. Only few people actually cycle full time on the roads. The rest are kids who cycle in their roads. Or people who take the low roads in places where there is hardly any traffic. We didn't need these barmy plates 40 years ago. It's all part of this nanny state we're living in.

I don’t understand why cyclists can’t use pavements on some busier A roads, especially if the pavements a majority of the time are empty. I think it would actually be more safer and cause less accidents.

Let's hope so. A cycle with number plates is so absurd. And very costly. It's basically NUTS!
Joggers should have them as well.
