I loved it. But then I liked the comics on which they were based.

It's not especially woke, especially at the five mins in, to what do you refer?

I'll give that a miss then, not doing woke in any way. shape. fashion or form.

I've seen all of them  like sure, there are some characters who are LGBT or BAME, but basically every character is a shitbag in some way, so what is it you think is woke?

Well okay, maybe some of the casting is improbable, but ... It's Netflix :joker: just ignore it and enjoy the story.

I didn't think that it was particularly woke either.

NCIS: LA's episode last night however, now that's woke.

The Show isn't perfect, but it does have some strong performances imo.

Especially from Mr. Corinthian, John Burgess, Dream & Lucienne.

Good reviews from critics and those not offended at seeing POC.

Tbf critics are corrupt.

But I'm glad to see that the audience is mostly liking the Show.

I read a review in the DT that said it was fine up till ep 4 and then just lost the plot

To be fair the first five* episodes cover one comics storyline (Dream is retrieving his stolen artifacts) and it does feel a bit directionless after that.
*the fifth is more of a wrap-up.

I'd say that the second arc doesn't start getting interesting until Mr. Corinthian & Jed get to the "convention" where Fun Land dwells.

But I like my twisted elements on TV Shows so I get that it won't appeal to everyone.:joker:

That arc was really padded in comparison to the comics, so it probably didn't feel like it got going for ages because the added stuff dragged it back.

That's understandable tbf given how different the mediums are.

I personally feel like for a first season The Sandman did a good job.
