Russian and Belarussian athletes can compete as neutrals in the Paralympics
there'll be a statement to come for the Olympics though, although this same neutrality was discussed for the olympics either

going to watch mainly on NOS, BBC and Eurosport i think
don't have HBO Max, not going to subscribe for it solely for this
i also can follow most things through flashscore online, ideal for following all sorts of live sports :)

BBC only get to show two screens at one time because IOC sold out. It’s a disgrace what they’ve done.
You’ll need discovery+ if you want every event live.

Yeah, this trend of sporting events getting moved to expensive pay-channels is very annoying.

why is no one watching the olympics today?
They probably presume the Olympics start tomorrow as per the ‘opening ceremony’
Barmy to have 4 days of sporting events BEFORE the grand opening !!

of course, some events take longer like rugby, handball, archery, football
and archery had to start today instead of tomorrow since tomorrow you also got rehearsals for the opening ceremony outside, and there might otherwise be risks of the opening ceremony staff getting accidentally hit by arrows

That's digusting. She's disgusting.
She apologised but wow what crazy peado way of thinking from Radcliffe.
The BBC must fire her from the BBC Olympic commentary team.

HBO Max is definitely worth it, also for the Olympics
they do not lie, at all
they basically show everything live, while the national broadcasters show wherever they have athletes competing in, or most medal chances
normally sports are 5 euro's more expensive than a regular premium 4k account but the olympic events are free for all of their users
i cancelled my Netflix, and i rather have HBO Max next to already having Disney+ and Skyshowtime, you have more with those 3 than with mediocre trash that is Netflix, so expensive and they keep removing so many content
HBO Max instead of Netflix you save 5 euros
13.99 or 18.99

( that’s being very generous as well )

Still think its madness that we’re having the opening ceremony later on today yet hundreds/thousands of competitors have apparently already left for home and will miss out on all the pomp and ceremony !!
Also why are only 8,000 athletes making the trip down the river in the opening ceremony when there are nearly 12,000 still in the Olympic village waiting to compete ?
Who chooses and how ??
So many questions

and if you acquire HBO Max, then you can watch whatever you want whenever its on, instead of relying on what the BBC are broadcasting
very good quality visuals too, and if you dislike commentary you can put that off into a ''No Commentary'' option so you more have stadium atmosphere sounds :)

Just watching the female synchronised diving
The favourites are Chinese ..but the dominant one who called the timing looked decidedly … errr masculine in the face … actually runs like a bloke in the after footage..
There’s nothing online about her being trans but the Chinese are infamous for ‘cheating’ so maybe its just a case of increased testosterone ?
Little things like this worry me

No Negativity In This Thread Please
there really is a reason why i try to avoid this forum, but i like sharing my opinion too much :(
last night has been a fantastic first evening of olympic sports tbh
both 4x100 freestyle swimming events were top class entertainment
Titmus snatching the 400m crown away from Ledecky, and also McIntosh performing better than Ledecky :clap1: also a nice surprise for the young canadian
after the swimming i watched good old Angie Kerber not willing to retire just yet, what a stunning 7-5, 6-3 win over Naomi Osaka in the clash of slam champions, Osaka really many errors and Angie knew exactly which placed balls to go for, her slices are still very much a powerful weapon for her
also nice seeing eiffel tower with a light show yet again, during breaks of that tennis game
Nicky91
28-07-2024, 07:39 AM
i mean Kyle Chalmers singlehandedly saving Australia from 5th or 6th place down to a silver medal in that 4x100 freestyle relay
also where were china now with their ''world record'' in the heat :joker: no medal for them at all
Team GB was celebrating its best start to an Olympic Games in over four decades as Anna Henderson claimed silver in the women’s road race time trial and divers Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen took bronze in the aquatics centre in Paris.
A British team had not won a medal on the first official day of an Olympics since 2004 and had last taken two of them back in the Moscow Games of 1980 but gutsy performances and a little luck delivered early success and raised fresh hopes of a record haul this summer.
…Great British start……well done the ladies…

Found her
Seems like a nice soul
:::
In 2010, Heather Fisher represented England at her first Rugby World Cup. But just before it began, her hair started to fall out and she was diagnosed with alopecia.
"When I lost my hair, I lost a massive part of my personality. A part that I don't really talk about because I think I should be OK, because I truly believe that hair shouldn't define me.
"But it does define confidence and how you handle yourself and how you dress. I learnt to dress differently and I learnt to accept that I was looked upon differently. So I'm probably too scared to show how I really feel," she said.

if China cheated, they would've won more gold medals in the swimming, instead of solely doing well in the heats and semi's and then ultimately flopping in the finals
as for Korea, idk if they cheat, they just seem very hard working, very strict in their training routines

Delighted for Tobego
Delighted for Tobego
Same … he was very emotional afterwards ( losing his mum ) ..
So pleased Lyles failed miserably .
i hate massive egos like him and fakeRonaldo
Pretty strange he was lying down afterwards, holding his leg and was taken away in a wheelchair YET the USA team released a statement saying he has tested positive for COVID !!?!
Even before the poor guy had had chance to celebrate he’s basically being told that he wasn’t a worthy winner

He should have kept that quiet if it is indeed true - until tomorrow to let the winner celebrate .

Blimey
It gets worse !
The suggestion is that Noah Lyles has had Covid since Monday and has knowingly been mixing with all the other countries athletes since as well as doing countless media interviews !!
There have been countless athletes/competitors who weren’t allowed to even compete because they had Covid !!

Femke Bol imploded last night, McLaughlin's new world record was really wow, even Cockrell ran past Bol, and Bol narrowly won the bronze ahead of another american to prevent a american 1-2-3
could've been more of an epic fight than what we saw, idk what happened
