I was allowed to watch Horror films (which intrigued the hell out of me) as a kid, but ONLY at my Aunts. So when i stayed there we'd snuggle and she allowed me to choose a video from her huge collection. Or we'd go to the Video rental shops. (i stayed at my aunts every Sat night for a number of years from about the ages 9-12).

My mum never allowed me to watch Horror films, but she did let me watch action 18's films. So Arnie, Stallone etc.

For me anyway -

Misery.
A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Hellraiser.
Scanners.

Probably more, but those off the top my head, especially Misery. Kathy Bates as Anne Wilks scared the **** outta me. Ironically, now it's one of my favourite films.

The Grudge (2004 Movie)
The Ring (the American version again)
A Nightmare On Elm Street

The one that springs to mind is the witch in The Wizard of Oz, standing on the Tin Man's hut, and threatening to set the Scarecrow on fire.

Oh yeah, it never scared me but i remember thinking it was weird

Watership Down, that movie ****ing traumatised me

Don't even!!!! My first ever heartbreak in life. :bawling:

....

I remember my Aunt had 2 films i wasn't allowed to watch (which of course mad me want to watch them more). The Entity. That was always hidden in the top Cupboard. And A Cry for Help The Tracey Thurman Story.

Watched both both since, glad i was protected from both looking back. Not sure a young me could handle them films in their rawness and subject matter.

I don't think any movies actually terrified me tbh I watched almost every horror available with my mum and loved them [emoji23]

Although I read IT and was scared to go to bed for ages after

I watched Salems Lot when I was far too young. Our house had bay windows and my brother had the room with the bay - he hung out of his bedroom window and scratched on the glass of mine - I didn't sleep for weeks after as I didn't know what he did and I thought the vampires were coming

That's the only film that ever really scared me,

I remember the VHS cover of the clown (Pennywise) scared me a lot. I would see it in the horror section at a Blockbuster. I never watched that as a kid, only when i got in my teens.

Alison's Birthday freaked me out big time at the end.

Daleks as well as a nipper...and a film I camt remember its name..Im nearly sure it was in black and white that had a massive ant thing poking away at people hiding in a cave, with weird noises in it.

This one scared me. First 5 mins are scary, last 2 mins are terrifying. It's an easy watch film.
