[Roger Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam singles champion,
will retire from top-level tennis after the
Laver Cup in London later this month.
Swiss Federer, 41, has not played since
Wimbledon 2021, after which he had
a third knee operation.]

Same .. my favourite of all time !
Apparently due to the pain he hadn’t been able to train properly for over 2 YEARS !
Yet still managed to do well last Wimbledon even with a leg injury

He'll always be a legend for the Sport imo (I honestly hope that this doesn't age badly) but he achieved so much in the Sport despite the fact that Grass Court Tennis is the least common Court in modern Tennis.
And I agree with you that he did well last Wimbledon considering his injury.

He’s a unique guy from what I read ..
Whatever he does he does well .. even negotiated all his own contracts and sponsorship deals
