That's Very Logical

He is now King.

[There had been speculation that
the King, who has been a passionate
campaigner on environmental issues,
would attend the event in
Sharm el Sheikh, making it his first
overseas trip since becoming monarch.]

I understand on his new position as Monarch to a degree.

This is however a passion of his.
I can't see how there should be any issue that Liz Gross should have been concerned about had he even just made an appearance.

I'd have thought it better had any PM asked did he WANT to attend even briefly, rather than advise him not to.
Meaning he CAN'T at all.

the government told him not to attend and he did as he should. Personal interests no longer apply

That's ridiculous of Truss and co to tell him not to go.
Is there many who don't know now this has been a passion of his for decades .

How would attending with even just a speech of simple support be in any way a problem.
It's a bit like telling the late Queen she shouldn't have attended Horse racing meetings for fear of supporting gambling.

I think unsurprisingly Truss and co are wrong on this.

Wonder how this will play out, as he clearly wanted to attend but she didn't allow it.
I'm not sure many will applaud that.

i don't know any details, it is likely some political manoeuvre. That's just how it goes, its no longer about Charles personal likes and dislikes

Unless her aims are at odds with his.
This was even a sort of passion of Johnson's .

Surely this kind of summit is important to everyone rulers, governments and people alike.
I can't see what there could be an issue about.

Unless SHE is the one that IS the issue.

my understanding is the egypt summit will have a different focus, more on developing nations, and thats probably not a topic any western country wants to get involved in at the moment
