[Sweet victory! California court rules
in favor of Christian baker who refused
to bake cake for a lesbian couple in 2017,
citing her Christian beliefs - and adds that
people 'shouldn't push any agenda against anyone else

A California court on Friday ruled in favor of a baker
who turned away a lesbian couple who
asked her to make a wedding cake in 2017
Cathy Miller, owner of the Tastries Bakery,
celebrated the new win on Facebook Friday
in a post on Facebook thanking followers
for their support
Tastries Bakery has fought several legal
battles now regarding the refusal to bake
a cake for a lesbian couple
Miller allegedly politely gave the couple
an alternative baker in the area to go to
for their wedding cake
She also said that the situation would
have been different if the cake was
already made but that the act of
making it specifically for them went against
her beliefs
Judge Eric Bradshaw said in his decision
that baking a cake is still protected as
'pure speech' and considered artistic expression]

It makes Logical Sense

I've got a question for Arista.

How does one bake a Gaycake?:hehe:

Now that I'm done with being a smartarse, I don't get why this person wants to make their business look bad? You're turning down custom for a pathetic reason, they haven't even done anything wrong to the business.

That bakery
gets more customers now.
You are not looking at the Facts

But this offends the Cake Artist
Beliefs

In the USA
the rights protect your Religion

These 2 parthetic gay trouble makers
were over cocky
thinking they knew the law.

Many could see why the rights
of a Top Cake Artist
are well above some time wasters,

In LA there are loads of other bakers
that would bake a top gay cake

The Judge had all the Facts

This is not about being Anti Gay
as other bakers can help

The bakery probably wanted the publicity then if they're getting more customers now .

It wouldn't surprise me if that's the angle then.

It's definitely a bizarre way to do it though.:joker:

"At the time, the baker allegedly politely refused to make the cake and gave the
couple the name of an alternative bakery.

But the furious couple lodged a lawsuit against her, claiming that they were being discriminated against."

But aren't there laws against turning down customers unless there's a strong reason as to why it needs to be done?

Nope not in America, you can legally refuse service to anybody for any reason, it’s bigot paradise

'The freedom to practice one's religion is enshrined in the First Amendment, and the
United States Supreme Court has long upheld the freedom of artistic expression.'

I think it's a slippery slope when a business can get away with turning away customers for trivial reasons.

For example if the customer was causing trouble, then they deserve to be barred from the business.

Are we seriously gonna compare Homosexuality with that?

What about when people say they can't do other types of cake due to religion,or anything alcohol based? .

There's a few of these cake stories we've heard about, and it's always in America.

I don't think the bakery is bothered either way ,as they will continue to run their business. I'm guessing they're doing very well financially.

any establishment can refuse entry to anyone as they see fit in the uk. There is no right to be served enshrined in law. They are not allowed to discriminate, but that doesnt remove their fundamental right to choose who they serve

there was the case in Northern Ireland

Again a gay couple outraged that some religious people dont see life the way they do tried to sue a baker

and lost
