Coloured text backgrounds

Is it possible to have coloured backgrounds on text, like what's shown in the picture above?

If not, I would like to suggest it as a potential feature of the forum!

e.g. or around text could output something similar to what is shown above.

I think it is a dandy idea for singatures but if it was used in posts it would look like Josephs coat when you logged on and would personally boggle my eyes! also a little like Stropz I am too lazy to use anything like that anyway :wink:
