Cook, clean, read; relax and drink a little Buck’s Fizz. I’m a relatively low-stimulus person anyway (I don’t need lots of excitement, not that I dislike it) but it’s been a long year so at this point I’m more excited to kiss goodbye to 2022 and low-key celebrate the new year than make much of an effort for Christmas. It’s a case of me being in a decent place overall but also really not in the mood.

Gingerbread-scented washing-up liquid is selling for cheap at B & M if any of the fellow compulsive cleaners on here want to spice up their washing-up routine in festive mode. And whatever you do don’t forget to ‘politely’ ask your guests to wipe their sodding feet.

Christmas Eve it will be a case of supervising hubby and our daughter on the Xmas day menu.
Daughter will set the table before she goes home to relax with her partner and his dad, then they are over here Xmas day to open presents before Xmas dinner, along with our son.
Had quite a few visitors this week so looking forward to a quiet day just with hubby Boxing Day..hopefully.

"Ghosts" Christmas special on Christmas day and "Detectorists" special on Boxing day are the only things I plan watching over Christmas from the mainstream television.

Unless anyone has any good recommendations?

My mate was supposed to be coming around tomorrow night for a few drinks but he's come down with the lergy and it looks like he's cancelled.

What a shame, it looks like I'll have to eat all my buffet that I'm laying on to myself.

Church opens for Midnight mass at 10pm. So I'll have myself a little Christmas eve party then stroll down to Midnight Mass with my pockets full of food and booze. Stay there until just after midnight then go home and fall asleep to Steptoe and Son rides again.

Christmas day, I shall wake up and have a bacon sandwich and a bowl of Cornflakes with Baileys for breakfast then get on the booze whilst I prepare dinner. I'm doing myself a four courser. I may then have a couple of hours nap after dinner and get up and get back on it.

Boxing day always starts with a big full English breakfast fry-up. Then straight on the booze with a few bets on the gee gees.

I have the full Christmas dinner tomoz at 5 with the girls and partners and then a big Christmas walk with dogs on the day, a visit to the parents grave for flowers and then swap the girls with the boy with ex-mrs LT and then another Christmas dinner and a film at 4 with smallest boy. Christmas night will be a cigar, whisky and reading with Classic FM

My son gets back from Surrey this morning so I am doing my last bits of cleaning and wrapping whilst waiting for him (and tryinh to find a playstation game that I've hidden and can't find yet), then we will walk down to the village and go get a hot chocolate from our favourite Quirky Coffee shop. Friends will pop in for gift exchanges around 6pm then we are having a cheeky takeawy, few drinks for me then bed. Tomorrow my Dad is coming for dinner....will run him home then few more cheeky drinks and the Soaps Christmas specials. I don't watch them much all year but always watch the christmas day eps
