he really made soccer more and more popular over in the US, in his last playing career days obviously, but also afterwards with the more recent Cosmos revival as honorary president
for this San Jose team, he played against them but he also helped them later on, organizing bootcamps for young new talent
one of America's own greatest and most capped ex players Cobi Jones called him his own childhood hero and the reason he started playing himself, on his twitter account (i cannot post all of those messages, otherwise it would come across as spam but so many beautiful messages online)
i myself liked watching the film about his life, few years ago :love:
