View Full Version : Tibb's favourite movie of the 2010s (semi-final 5)
Look in the semi-final 1 thread for the rules
So did I miss any films out that should have been in the polls? or have I selected all the major players in each poll?
Interesting choice MTVN
I have Green Book among my dvd collection, I bought it about a year ago but I've not watched it yet.
Obviously you recommend it, so I might put it onto my list of things I need to watch.
2 votes for "The Gentleman"
Never seen it, maybe I should indulge?

It's not an all time classic or anything but it is a very enjoyable film. I saw it in the cinema mind and I think films always stick with you more when you see them that way
Same with OUATIH and 1917

Strange - was pretty sure I went to the cinema to see that with an ex I broke up with around 08. My mistake - yeah just realised I'm talking about a completely different film.

The Irishman is betterI've seen Rhe Irishman. It was OK but not one of my favourites by Scorsese.

It's bugging me now - it was a film with Nicole Kidman in. Actually I'm wrong about that, too. Ignore all of my posts, and I'll have a think and vote in the polls tomorrow.

It's funny how memory can distort things like that innit. Sometimes I feel like certain songs came out much more recently than they did, so when they appear in oldish films it's quite jarring to hear things which "hadn't been invented yet."
The Irishman is better

Yeah I think it was a very good film but given the length and the standard of Scorcese's other stuff I don't think it quite lived up to expectations
You would definitely like the Gentlemen though Alf

I had the same reaction
If a film actually puts you to sleep it can't get a good rating except as an aid to insomniacs

Just bought The Gentleman on dvd. I didn't realise it was a Guy Ritchie film.
How does it compare to his classics, Lock, Stock and Snatch?

Every bit as good imo. Colin Farrells character was my personal favourite in The Gentlemen

I thought Hugh Grant was good.
I'll give it a 7/10
I'm gonna put it in my top 5 of this poll and change my vote from Toy Story 4 to The Gentleman.
I fell asleep in the middle of that, boring and looooong
The 2nd half is when it really exploded into action
Joker and 1917 both got 5 votes
I swapped from Toy story 4 to The Gentleman so the other votes are as follows.
Blakkklansman
Once Upon a time in Hollywood
The Gentleman
The Irishman
Toy Story 4
All got 3 votes, but only 3 can make it through. Which 3?
