My neighbour. Buy her a poinsettia every Christmas
14 houses in our cul de sac ( no number 13 of course )
We are on good terms with every single family … we have lived there for about 40 years though and very few move away … by choice ( if you get my drift )

I would say I'm friendly with most of my neighbours as in I'd say hello, have a chat with some of them but I wouldn't consider them my friends as such, I don't socialise with them or anything. It's hard enough to find the time to maintain my long standing friendships these days

My immediate next door neighbour is someone with whom I used to work! Further along the street is one of my old service users.
Otherwise I'm on nodding terms, especially with those who have doggos.

Where I live is quite private but I do know most of the people in the town and have 5 close neighbours who I mingle with and spend coffee times with.

I didn’t take it as literally being friends with them .. just that we are all friendly towards each other…

I talk to my neighbours but many we use to talk to alot have passed away and new people arrived. Not really friends , one of my best friends is the sister of my next door neighbour who passed quite young.

A fair amount. Lived here for over 25 years now and many have been here longer. Sadly and expectedly over that time many have either moved or passed away so the newbies are strangers to us but still greet each other in passing.

There are six houses on my lane including mine, it's quite a long lane and I can't see my next neighbour from here. I know four of them and I'd say they're acquaintances more than friends, the other neighbour has just moved in so don't know much about them yet.

None :joker:. Plenty I'll give a cordial nod to, none that I even chat with. I have long-standing feuds with the neighbours to the side (about our age, loads of junkie friends, fell out over their loud parties) and to the back (couple in their mid 50's, obsessed with their garden, he was mad about our garden being a mess and I wasn't... erm... very polite in response).
Both of these things were years ago but it's still glares all round :joker:.
Although last year there was a storm and our trampoline took off (the gardener - who we ironically started getting because of aforementioned disagreement - had moved the weights off the bottom) and those neighbours helped me to wrestle it back into the garden. It was like a temporary alliance while the street was in chaos. There were wheelie bins flying around, torrential rain, lightning, the works... it was all a bit of an epic quest.

Should add I now get glares and pointed whispered comments because after I dismantled said trampoline, I stacked all the bits up in the back garden and they're still there nearly a year later :joker:.

Odd that your neighbours are that concerned about your back garden

It's a neighbourhood utopia in my street.
