If you've got gender dysphoria, I wouldn't say they're
" proud" to show their scars as such . When a woman gets breast cancer and sadly has to have a double mastectomy ...... I would say it's more a relief to have survived surgery,it doesn't mean they want to show everyone their scars .And then there's the psychological side of it , that's not a quick fix.

It's hardly the same thing and you know it :rolleyes: , plus being deaf is a disability. Some people are born deaf or they lose their hearing as they get older.... it's nothing like trans or non binary!.

To be fair, it's hard to prove the cause of any mental disorder. Gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia, along with eating disorders could all be caused by social factors etc, or they could be caused something misfiring in the head somewhere.

To be fair, with the quite large number who experiment with changing gender in their early teens only to ultimately settle on remaining their biological sex after a couple of years, I don't see how this can possibly be the case. Even just logically it's not possible for it to be the case because gender norms are a sociological construct... You can't be born into them...

I genuinely don't think there's an issue with any of it other than the top scars and breast binding. Believe it or not - especially the breast binding. There are clear & very real health risks associated with it and normalising it for young girls, even in a game, is really questionable. In terms of the scarring, again a mastectomy is major, irreversible and life-altering surgery that shouldn't be normalised as something as simple as getting braces for your teeth or even cosmetic surgery like a nose job. It just kind of trivialises something that isn't trivial at all.

I do find there to be rather a lot of hypocrisy that the same people who will quip "Yuck why are you cis perverts all OBSESSED with genitals" will in the next breath unironically say "Ooh yay The Sims have shapewear now so you can make it look like they have different genitals through their clothes!" :think:.

Like I don't even particularly have an issue with people taking either stance or making either point... but what sort of mental hoops does one have to jump through to hold BOTH positions? To seemingly believe that genitals are simultaneously all-important, but also, not important at all.
