It tackles nearly every current social and political topic, and has done for years. They don't sway either way politically, thy just call things how they see them. And 99% of the time imo they get it spot on.

And, even when they've been wrong in the past, they will admit in a later episode. Like Al Gore and Climate Change. They ripped on that back in the mid 00's. But now we can all see it's an actual thing, they had a 2 parter episode admitting their "wrongness" tied with the release of Red Dead 2. Was a great episode actually.

At the end of the day, they have Harry and Meghan down to a tee. And it is had to ignore when they're literally everywhere you look.

If this couple truly wanted privacy, they could have it. They're just professional attention seeking, cry baby victims. And the only way they can keep the attention is through their royal connections...It's their brand.

I'm not even a south park fan ,but they mock everyone..... they've been doing so for a long time. H& M aren't exactly the only celebrities to get ripped to shreds .

Well I'll repost my last one, I'm not reposting the big long one I made :hmph:. Alf will be gutted.

Briefly, I said that I have no idea what they have or haven't had to say about this episode but if it's just "reported in the press" it might as well be total guesswork, especially from "royal commentators". If they didn't say it publicly in their own words it's 50/50 whether there's an ounce of truth in any of it at this point.

I also pointed out that SP's lampooning of H&M was pretty gentle by SP standards and yet Press Hams are wetting their boxers over it, which is almost a parody in itself. They're acting like it's the most savage take-down South Park has ever done.

In all honesty I sort of think H&M are currently low-hanging fruit for South Park, seems a little bit lazy and easy :umm2:. Though I suspect that's the British perspective, they're not AS panned in the press in the US as they are here.

I'm not saying they're "above" parody or shouldn't be parodied, but that South Park usually does "current" the right way - with astute observations and a twist on the perspective. They're not usually bandwagon-hoppers and this does feel a little... bandwagon-y. But again, maybe that's because it's a UK bandwagon and a US show. You can call it "bandwagony" but i'd have to disagree, in a sense anyway. What South Park parody, and address, sometimes from a more serious angle and perspective (not in this case, it was pure humour and parody) is current, or recently current. When you look at it like that, the waters between bandwagony and current become very murky. You call it bandwagon because you think they're just echoing the complaints and criticism from most of the world (baring their obsessive defenders/lovers, like a few on here). But that's the point, how they were portrayed is how most people see them. Self centred, hypocritical and delusional "cry babies" who have a life most can only dream of, yet all they do is complain about it. It's insulting to everyday hardworking people struggling to put food on the table.

South Park parody literally every current topic, and they usually do it with a lot of humour, and OTT'ness, mixed in with a hint of seriousness. Last seasons episode with the Russia/Ukraine War (and the US' involvement) for example.

And lets face it, Matt Stone and Trey Parker are not bandwagoners, never have been, and never will be. Through the years they've openly mocked the hypocrisy and self centred nature of Hollywood.

Like it or not, that's Harry and Meghan now, they are top tier entitled Hollywood celebs, who offer no real quality other than to whine and moan about they "victimised" privileged lives.

I have seen so many interviewees on TV and radio saying things like "I'm no fan of the Royal family, but I can't have Meghan at all'. So that's the impression I get.
I don't think its down to Royalists or anti Royalists really, I think its about an individuals own moral code and what they consider tolerable and decent and authentic about a persons actions and that will be different for everyone depending on their own life experiences. :shrug:
