I dont think there is a specific date Kate, this is all I can find on the net

When you’ll be paid
If you’re entitled, you will get:

£301 paid during spring 2023 for most people
£300 paid during autumn 2023 for most people
£299 paid during spring 2024 for most people

It will be interesting to see what he sets out.

Good to see he's maybe woken up to what Labour have been on about for a good while now, re childcare costs.
Let's hope his finer detail on that can be effective for those who need it.

What he does announce today however is likely not to really impact on those now in more desperate situations due to the cost of living rising by ridiculous levels over just the last year.
Even apparently those who got the maximum of help are now struggling still.

So if he's now going to remove that help, things can only get worse for those already in a worrying financial state.
Because they are still stuck with around double or more in the last year, of just gas and electricity costs.

That's before they start on the greater increase of inflation on food prices.
Which is way far more than just 10/11%.

That remains to be seen.

Not a fully appropriate budget really for this uncertain time.

The main elements in the Budget include:

[Up to 30 hours of free childcare for
youngsters aged over nine months if both
parents each earn less than £100,000.
Changes to Universal Credit to encourage
people to get back to work,
with more support for childcare;
The lifetime allowance on pensions
has been abolished altogether,
after complaints that many middle-earners were
finding it was not worth them working due
to tax penalties;
The energy bills guarantee is being extended
for another three months,
with prices likely to be lower by June anyway;
Fuel duty is being frozen for a
13th year in a row, and the
'temporary' 5p a litre cut is being maintained;
Alcohol duty will rise in line with inflation
from August and reforms to base the levy
on strength will go ahead - with bottles
of wine set to go up by around 45p,
but other drinks getting cheaper;
A 'Brexit pubs guarantee' will
see the duty on draught products in pubs
up to 11p lower than the duty in
supermarkets from August;
Businesses will be able to offset all
capital spending on IT and other equipment
against taxable profits for at least the
next three years;
Nuclear power will be classed as
'environmentally sustainable' which will give it
access to the same investment incentives
as renewable energy;
Defence spending is being increased by
£11billion over the next five years amid
the fallout from the Ukraine war;
There will be a £200million fund to tackle potholes
after a Daily Mail campaign.]

Most things are to take effect too far off in the future, there was very little for NOW.

The UK economy was 'proving the doubters wrong'
Forecasts suggest the UK will avoid falling
into previously expected recession this year.

I thought people who were job seeking were looking for a job. I didn't know employers were offering jobs. Quite bizarre. How does it work? I am confused.

I was on the dole about 15 years ago, and I had to apply for jobs I wanted. But now it seems claimants are offered jobs????? Is this true?????????

I think they can offer you jobs that if they fit your skillset people would have to take, I am not against this per se as long as its a job that you can either be trained into or have some experience in and it is within the persons capabilities and the pay is decent, and it is not used as a way to get cheap labour

Yes, but if they're offering a job, then surely the employer needs to know who they're hiring???:joker:

The employer has to be assured this person being 'offered the job' will fit in and actually do the job.

The way the MP said it was as if there are loads of jobs being offered without interview or even the employer knowing who they're hiring.:joker:

I think a better way of putting it is they show you jobs that yes, like you said, fit your skillset, and it's up to you to go to the interview and try to get the job.:hehe:

Maybe it means like, if someone interviews for a retail job or something lol just to meet their job-seeking obligations but tries to not get it on purpose because they don't really want it (retail), but the employer offers them a job anyway? If they turn down a job they're recorded as having applied and interviewed for, it would look fishy.

[The government will abolish the work capability
assessment for disabled people and
separate benefit entitlement from
an individual's ability to work.
The aim is to enable disabled people to seek work
without fear of losing their benefits.
A new programme called universal support will also
fund extra support for disabled people to find work.

A new apprenticeship, called a returnership,
will be created for those aged 50
and older wanting to return to work.
Mr Hunt said it will make existing skills
programmes more appealing for older workers
and focus on previous experience.

[As corporation tax on profits over £250,000
is due to rise from 19% to 25% in April,
businesses will be able to offset 100%
of UK investments against their profits
to bring down tax bills.
The OBR said it will increase business investment
by 3% for every year.
Mr Hunt announced the measure for the
next three years but intends to make
it permanent "as soon as we
can responsibly do so".

An "enhanced credit" has been introduced
for small and medium-sized businesses
if they spend 40% or more of their
total expenditure on research and development.
They can claim credit worth £27
for every £100 spent.

As expected, the government is extending
the energy price guarantee (EPG),
which keeps the average
household bill at £2,500 until the end
of June by capping
the unit price of electricity.
The typical bill was due to rise to
£3,000 from 1 April.
Under the EPG the government effectively

and the cost of buying power on wholesale markets.

The energy rebate scheme - paid direct

million families to save £45 a year on their bills.

Investment zones

Twelve new investment zones or
"potential Canary Wharfs" will be
eligible for £80m in funding to boost
business there,
with at least one each in Scotland,
Wales and Northern Ireland.

The ones in England are: Greater Manchester,
West Midlands, North East, South Yorkshire,
West Yorkshire, East Midlands,
Teesside, and Liverpool.

There will also be £200m extra funding
for local regeneration projects.

Public leisure centres and pools will share
