Empty washing up liquid bottles filled up with water. You couldn't beat a good water fight during the summer six weeks holiday.

Maybe bits of card on your bike spokes to sound like a motor bike ?

I remember the times when the only thing I had to worry about was how to get our football from under the neighbours car when playing footie in the street !!

But instead of trying to hit the steel balls against the puck and score a goal I used to set up all my wee plastic toy soldiers on the board and then execute them all - the game was who ( and what country) survived ( I had German, SOuth African, Russian and British soldiers, Airfix)

Skipping ropes
Elastics
Two balls against the wall
Footie

We spent most times playing out...eating with our coats on so we could get back out as quickly as possible

Agree with alf, nothing better than a water fight with washing up bottles in summer

Potato and cap guns etc

God I am so old.....buy they were the best times

Yeah. When it was safe to play out and not have to worry about anything .. very different today sadly

I feel genuinely sorry for the youngsters growing up nowadays

I just remembered that I used to love Table Football/Soccer.

Also still to this day I love playing Air Hockey at the Arcade.

I used to love ‘collecting’ Subbuteo teams but never played the game itself .

Rather play proper footie outside

Rugby ball, hated subuteo, to much pain on the fingers for my liking.

Slinky.
Toy soldiers I positioned all the way up the stairs then rolling marbles down at them one by one until every last soldier was knocked down. I had about 50 marbles but I still had to creep down the stairs avoiding rhebremaining soldiers as I cleared the dead ones away before picking up my marbles and creeping back up the stairs to get the rest of them.

I also used to throw a tennis ball as hard as I could at the stairs, as I played goalie at the bottom saving the rebound. Had a list of all the goalies in the english l 1st division league at the time..joe Corrigan, Clemence, shilton, to name but a few. Great times for kids with an imagination of thier own.

Subbuteo is a good game as well.

And obviously the real thing can be fun too, even though I play worse than a Conference player.:joker:

I got this for a birthday and still have it stashed away somewhere. It was one of my fave toys. It no longer works but I can't part with it. :hee:

I had Subbuteo but never actually played football. I used the figures as rival gangs and had fights with them on an old felt cards table. I used knives and forks as streets

My dad was an engineer so of course I was given a Meccano set .. I had zero interest plus the screws were far too small and fiddly … anyways I just wanted to be out playing football.

I recall getting a Chemistry set presumably as I wasn’t bothered about normal toys or games .. but I used to mix all the chemicals together till there was nothing left - just made loads of foul smelling concoctions

I recall spilling some Vimto onto on a wooden table top … seconds later it had taken all the varnish off !!

My mum went crazy and said look what that stuff is doing to your insides !!

Never had it after that and we always had Ribena instead ..

I ruined a really expensive silk blouse of my mums by chucking it on top of a marker pen that ran all over it,then I cut the offending blouse up and hid it in the bottom of my wardrobe and feigned innocence when she asked me if I'd seen it.

Little did I know months later (after I'd long forgotten about the incident) mum would find the remnants in my wardrobe (I had fully intended in moving scene of crime into my brothers room but forgot). That was a fun homecoming from school

A very creative idea.
