Because of my dad being a pastor, my siblings and I got biblical first and middle names.

My Dad was the last in a long line of Robert's until I came along.
A lot of Mary's on my Mum's side too going back (loads).
I did the family tree last year on Ancestry and managed to go back to the 1600's in some cases. Fascinating.

The theme for first names in my family is that most of the family don't go by their first name, but by their 2nd or 3rd name.

There's no theme, just names that I liked/my parents liked

No theme for first names in our family. On my mums side, all the girls (there was not many -small family) had the middle name Rosina. My mum hated it and the tradition ended with her and she didn't give me that name (thankfully). My brother gave his oldest daughter the middle name of Rose in a nod to it and his youngest daughter got my Mum's first name as her middle name as she was born after she died and was the only grandchild she didn't meet.
Our middle names took after the surname of the female side of the family so that the surname lived on
