Yes, we must assume this report
does not say he was a Bully

He's probably looking for any way around sacking him or moving him.

If this had in the main cleared Raab of any bullying intent or in fact bullying..
Then I'd think Sunak would have wanted to rush out and declare that.

He'll be looking at how he can present as best a plausible deceit to avoid the need for any action.

As for Raab resigning, he's now crawled up the backside of now at least 4 Prime Ministers.
This PM.however needs Raab onside with him.

So I think more possibly, how it can be presented as plausible to keep him and take no action is being worked out.
Which will be a continuation of the deceit of former Con PMs.

Johnson dismissed a report such as this on Patel.
I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Sunak sets out to deceive too.

I still think, had it cleared Raab of anything
They'd both, Sunak and Raab, in a probable 'we told you so line' would likely have been screaming that from the rooftops within a couple of hours of seeing the report.

i agree with Joey. If Sunak was going to sack Raab, it would have been done within minutes of receiving the report. There is no way he didn't know exactly what was in the report before receiving it and now he is looking at how it can be fudged

If he indeed choses not to sack him when all the evidence suggests he should be gone, then it will be the beginning of the end for Sunak and he wont last until the summer

'Wishy washy fishy rishi'.

So his capability of making a correct decision for the Country, his governnent and those who have identified themselves as the probable victims, will be to possibly fudge the issue and only set out to protect him and Raab.
No one else.

I kind of hope he refuses to act and if he leaves Raab who was a hopeless Justice secretary before, a disastrous Foreign secretary, again now a useless Justice secretary and an insult to the office of deputy PM.
Then this is an issue which will not go away at all.

i think Sunak comes across really badly on this. After his speech about integrity and accountability, if there was even a sniff of bullying, Rabb should have been out on his ass months ago. Also, Sunak will know perfectly well whether Raab is a bully or not, he doesn't need an investigation, so i find the whole thing rather distasteful. He obviously doesn't want to sack him and that's that. Like i said earlier. This is the beginning of the end for Sunak

In the last few moments, Dominic Raab has resigned from his posts as justice secretary and deputy prime minister.

In his resignation letter, Raab says he feels "duty bound to accept the outcome of the inquiry" - but points out that the report by Adam Tolley KC "dismissed all but two of the claims levelled against me".

We've not seen the report yet, we'll bring it to you when we have it.

"I also believe that its two adverse findings are flawed and set a dangerous precedent for the conduct of good government," Raab writes.

bound to accept the outcome of the inquiry, it dismissed all but two of the
claims levelled against me.

"I also believe that its two adverse findings are flawed and set a dangerous
precedent for the conduct of good government."

Mr Raab added: "In setting the threshold for bullying so low, this inquiry has set
a dangerous precedent. It will encourage spurious complaints against
ministers, and have a chilling effect on those driving change on behalf of your

government - and ultimately the British people."

Really no way to comment to that effect without knowing the nature and context of the two incidents that were verified to be bullying. It MAY be perfectly clear that the things said and done went clearly beyond professional criticism.

There's literally no excuse I can think of for unprofessional (negative) engagement in any workplace.

Well Raab had a small kind of majority over the Lib Dems in his Esher and Walton seat.
So it's no surprise the Lib Dems want an election.
By-election or general election.

Neither will happen.
Raab isn't going to resign as an MP.
He cannot be sacked as an MP.

Really though, on this bullying issue of a man who Sunak only months ago, made JUSTICE secretary and made him deputy PM too.
The judgement of Sunak is looking extremely poor indeed.
Because other than this inquiry, Sunak has ended up doing next to nothing at all.

He had the report around midday yesterday.
He knew then the knowledge more than one case was found to be bullying.
Yet he didn't act yesterday, nor by this morning, then all he's done is send a sort of glowing letter to Raab for his service.

There's not been much from either as to the victims of the bullying of Raab who put their jobs and careers on the line by speaking out against it.

Arrogant Sunak is coming across as shocking on this whole chaotic mess.
