Is bicarbonate of soda, every anti-bacterial essential oil under t’sun, lemon bleach and copious amounts of laundry the way you roll on Saturday mornings or do you hardly ever bother?

I think the idea of using weekends for cleaning is a bit depressing, I'd rather do that on a weekday evening/on a lazy work from home day

Might do a bit on Sat morning if I haven't been drinking the night before but Sunday is a day of rest

J get it done in the week, I might do some gardening at the weekend if the weather is nice but that is more of a leisure thing

What’s depressing to one person is a bunch of flowers or weekend in Vegas to someone else. I adore the prospect of weekend-cleaning and actually look forward to it. There used to be a lot more of an anxious compulsion to get rid of other people’s dirt in my case but just as much of it as a natural part of my personality. People are often energised by the things they actually like to do.

Well that's true tbf, I know someone who loves cleaning and finds it really calms them down when stressed

Unusual in men though I would suggest! It's a good habit to have though

I’m quite OCD-ish (it’s more complicated than that but that’s the bare bones of it). In-as-much as not everyone with OCD-related ish has cleaning compulsions I do. It’s less pathological than it was but of course I’m going to be the way I am given the half-pristine fertile soil that’s been with me to varying extents for the best part of 16 years. In a more general sense I’ve never not been at least vaguely bothered by other people’s dirt, not as far as I can remember. It just used to depend more on how willing I was to do something about it but then certain pathological concerns of other people’s mess (amongst so many other things) kicked in and from there on it was a mixture of just being quite content and happy to tidy up more than the average person and keep the environment hygienic and going overboard with it until I was able to channel that imbalance into something more positive. I still have my moments and there are still places I associate with bothersome traces of dirt that I don’t step foot in anymore but it’s not as intense as it was at one point. But the point is I was ever only okay with mess that was my mess and mine alone. I still have a low tolerance for other people being dirty and I will generally clean up after them still.
