[Chubby critters are running amok,
the Daily Star says, as millions of obese rats - made fat
on scraps of our fast food leftovers - target homes.]

I thought a rat was getting into our bins but I caught the culprit last week - just the fatarsed cat from across the street. I believe his name is Walter.
TBF around here it's more commonly foxes than rats, if something is getting into things.

Same here.
We have a relatively big Fox population where I live.
Fox Hunters can stay away though, they're definitely not welcome where I live.
There's a cat near me who sh1t in my garden. I caught the little tw@ in my garden a couple of days ago and chased it out. I bought a bulb of garlic and put the chopped up cloves over my garden. If the little bleeder comes back it will get a nostril full of garlic.

You see a Fox more
but the rats come out at night
For Example,
Climbing a Bird Box
eating all the seed
Once I got the Rat Poison box outside
Bricks around it to keep it in its place.
The Fat Rat climbs inside to eat the Delight.

I put snake droppings in our garden and we don’t get cats now .
I got the idea from zoo keepers who put tiger/lion/ cheetah poop in their gardens as a deterrent

i dont have any fast food places within 2 miles so no. I have my rabbits, a squirrel and all the birds, oh and a cat that visits
i think people confuse rats with mice more often than not

Fleas the size of rats sucked on rats the size of cats
And ten thousand peoploids split into small tribes
Coverting the highest of the sterile skyscrapers
Like packs of dogs assaulting the glass fronts of Love-Me Avenue
Ripping and rewrapping mink and shiny silver fox, now legwarmers
Family badge of sapphire and cracked emerald
Any day now
The Year of the Diamond Dogs

I can't put poison outside. My neighbours cats would eat it. And I love cats.

Make Sure your first box

Then you buy it
in a bag of Blocks of it
Use plastic gloves
