You’d think she’d have ditched him after she made the big time.

She’s a saint

Bassist and co-founder of Busted a group that your Dad may have heard of
back in the day Matt Willis has been contacted by a production company
looking to make some money from faded stars. He opens up (or talks to a
young person for money) about his experiences battling drug and alcohol
addiction and his daily struggle to stay clean and sober. He speaks on the
constant fear of relapse and the pressure it puts on himself and his family on
the odd occasion that it does when they are not at the local Waitrose,
booking another holiday in the sun or at the local Range Rover dealership getting the
latest model. Matt looks back on his past and his darkest days, again so that
the prodiuction company can sell this to the BBC and make money, trying to
get to the root of his addictions for dramatic content. He visits a rehab unit
that made a real difference to his recovery to speak with experts (people who
work there) about why he and fellow addicts become dependent on drugs
and alcohol (as if this is a mystery) before travelling to Imperial College
London to meet a research team who are studying the differences in the
brains of people with addictions and people without - this will be the bit most
people turn over. Shot with angst camera pans to Matt and his screechy wife
Emma (who cant buy media work now) this hopefully will be picked up by
Gogglebox so that it will quadruple its audience. BBC 1 9pm 17.05.23
