Awful really.

I had elderly relatives who I couldn’t see at all, one was in a care home (sadly passed away thanks to, in part, catching Covid) and I didn’t see them for almost 18 months. Every time the phone would ring you’d think it would be the care home ringing with bad news.

An elderly friend of the family/old neighbour whose main contact (due to lack of her own family) was us suddenly died at home and nobody knew she was there for almost three days.

I also turned 30 in peak first lockdown and wasn’t allowed to do anything except walk the dog around the block…

The haircut thing wasn’t a big deal, to be honest. Lots of people were taking people in for trims through the back door (sometimes they’d even come to you). Luckily no-one I know well died of it but certain family members were extremely ill with it early in 2021 (the vicious Delta variant) so that was quite a scary few weeks. I had to stop checking in on the news (including Sky News) and temporarily unfollow their pages because the continual death-alerts weren’t helpful. But lockdown itself (as a conglomerate) was fine. I actually had some really good times with the people I was living with during the Delta part of the pandemic and as much as things soured later (which I’m still quite angry about) I’ll always be grateful for those experiences.
But as for Covid per-se I’ll be glad to see the complete back of it. I used to keep wearing a mask for niche aesthetic and introvert protection but even I can’t be arsed with it anymore.

It was a surreal time not bing able to travel anywhere or go out, but somehow it was okay as well, if that makes sense

I hated queing for the supermarket though, but its amazing how you could make do if you forgot something because you were not going back in

I just didnt like feeling like a criminal everytime I would go on holiday.
Getting to the airport and through security was like a mission impossible film.
Other than that it was okay.

i stopped watching the news after a couple of weeks. The media in general should be held to account for the way they wound up people on a daily basis
