On the times I did watch This Morning it was more like viewers were intruding once she was on the programme..
They both came across more ignorant to me.

Then when they both went on Dancing on Ice.

To be fair the Schofield stuff is extremely murky and I wouldn't be surprised at all if there's a lot more to it / "proper scandal stuff" lurking at the core. I definitely agree that Holly shouldn't be tarred with his brush though purely for the crime of proximity. As you say, look at how many people were in close proximity to Saville. I find it very unlikely that she was aware of the depth of it all. I suspect she's become aware recently, hence all of the drama.

Dianne Nelmes also believes that if the show does survive the current turbulent waters, Holly Willoughby should lose her spot on the sofa because she is ‘a part of the shipwreck’.

My opinion remains that she shouldn't be "cast out" from opportunities in future unless there's some clear indication she's been involved in some sort of cover up.

However, it's moot when it comes to This Morning; I think the writing is on the wall for the show, and anyone sensible at ITV must currently be thinking the show needs to be replaced entirely. New team, new bosses, new production company the whole lot. A fresh slate is the only way to save that important time slot for ITV at this point.

Let's face it, the format is probably due an update anyway. It's all a bit 2009.

The producers are constantly gauging everyone’s popularity .. a recent example would be Maura .. massively popular on Love Island .. big character etc etc .. she was given her own regular slot on This Morning ( I never got chance to watch it ) but I don’t think her mega popularity lasted long as she’s hardly heard of these days

So many programmes they've now done together and events too.

My opinion on the Holly situation remain the same I think. Yes I think she's known more than she let on (earlier than she let on) but I can actually appreciate that she's been in a genuinely tough position and with limited influence (compared to Schofield) ... as I said on the other thread, I'd factor in that Philip is clearly a highly charismatic individual who she thought of as a good friend, and what he had done "was technically legal".

However she needs to leave This Morning. Whether that means the show continuing with new hosts, or being put out of its' misery and replaced with a new format, she is too wrapped up in the current situation to continue in that role. Dignified thing to do would be to apologise and step away before the boat sinks.

Interestingly whilst flicking through all the channels earlier I saw a PR guru who said that rather than the story taking its natural course it is actually being fuelled each day by a few protagonists namely Eamon Holmes , Dan Wootton and Katie Hopkins ( all pretty obnoxious imho) and the best advice he could give THEM would be to back off as they will ultimately end up damaging their own image .. There's two issues here... One is that while I agree ratings on Monday will be massive because of current events, beyond that they'll drop like a stone because of what's gone on.

The other is that I just don't think she's a confident enough presenter or even close to it to carry a show like this as the lead. Phil might be a car wreck, but he was at least a competent and experienced presenter.

The only way it could work is if they brought in another lead and Holly continued as the copresenter for the energy to bounce off of and I don't see how that can be done with her having been there so long. It doesn't make sense.

Like I said earlier - it would be like trying to get Ant to present a show without Dec.

Look, she MUST have at the very least suspected something as she asked him was he having an affair with this young man.
He answered NO.
That's why she claims the rift started because he'd lied to her when she asked him.

I think, THINK, she has maybe known or at the very least suspected.

She has been on that show with him for ages, including long before he got this guy on the show with them too.
She must have seen how close they got.
She must have known they'd had contact before for Schofield to get him employed on the show.

Like are there really people sat at home bawling over this? Surely the range of emotions goes from "a bit annoyed" (at the systems that let him get away with this sort of abuse of power at the expense of a young boy) and "largely indifferent" because it doesn't actually affect the lives of the public AT ALL.
