Many are now happy
they can now Edit so long as it's within 15mins

[WhatsApp says it will allow users to
edit messages,
in a move that will see it match a feature
offered by competitors like Telegram and Signal.
The firm says messages can be edited for
up to 15 minutes after being sent.
The instant-messaging service is part of
US technology giant Meta,
which also owns Facebook and Instagram.

The feature will made be available to
WhatsApp's 2 billion users in the
coming weeks.
It counts India as its largest market,
with 487 million users.]

My issue is with my predictive text or whatever it’s called as mine occasionally actually goes back a few words and changes them to what it thinks I wanted to say !!

Yeah and I get it for forums like this or even social media where there's going to be a message "present" for a while, but surely WhatsApp is just conversational so a typo or two (if the meaning is still obvious) isn't an issue and if there's a misunderstanding you just correct it with another message... editing and fixing a message seems somehow a bit "formal" for whatsapp .

I can basically also see it being mainly used for people who have said crappy things in messages to "remove the evidence" for gaslighting purposes tbh. Yes people can still screenshot, but screenshots can be easily doctored, they're not "proof" in the same way that being able to show an original message is.

Ans WhatsApp doesn't have lovely mods and admins who can check and verify the original :D.

I suppose, I hate looking at my awful mistakes though and clunky read afterwards

Yeah, it's great for different groups to keep in contact and share things as a group.

I am not in ANY WhatsApp groups whatsoever

All single conversations individual contacts

Texts / photos / videos seem to go through faster and it’s all free

No worries about it effecting texts / photos allowances etc
