Do you go lovely and brown in the sun or are you like me, a mass of freckles? Or milky white?

Freckles but it depends. I usually burn but sometimes I can get a tan

Just remember the sunscreen. If you're fair skinned you need a higher factor. I use 50.

I tan, but I can burn as well, if you buy sunscreen with carotene in it, it really helps

i don't tan, i go various shades of bright red. I could double as a beacon for passing ships if i've been out in the sun for more than an hour

I don’t go in the sun at all these days, but when I did I went straight to a lovely brown, my son is the same.
Daughter is like her dad, milk bottle to lobster.

I burn, peel then tan and become burnproof if I spend any significant number of days in the sun. I'm not a huge fan of the heat though so I tend to stay nice and pale :joker:.

Which is perhaps why I always "burn first". My delicate indoorsy skin isn't used to the harsh daylight.

Interestingly I didn't burn as a kid - I used to tan near instantly. I remember burning for the first time aged about 12 and being like wtf ...

I don't tan easily as I have a ginger person's skin. However, when I worked in States I was in South Carolina and it was HOT. At the time, I hammered the sun beds to get a decent base and that is the only year of my life when I did tan. Obviously this was back when everyone hammered sunbeds and didn't worry to much about the consequences

Quite often though my freckles explode in such a way that I look pretty brown (but in reality they just all join up )

I decided long ago that pale is interesting

Think you could stomach working in Arizona, by any chance?

If it was inside in the AC then of course

South Carolina was hot but we had a pool, AC and it certainly wasn't dessert hot

Yeah, I don't know how people survive AZ. I have a bit of family who live in Carolina (between North and South) and from what they tell me the heat there's enough to ... well, it's not exactly Antarctica. Let's just say that.
