"vs. marmite-esque ones you like*"
And by the title I’m asking if you have a list of generally well-liked foods/drinks that you personally don’t like and/or a corresponding foods that generally provoke Marmite reactions in the general public (in terms it often being a case of “you either love or loathe it”) that you actually do like?
Mine would be (for well-liked foods that I personally dislike) eggs, ham, tuna, brown bread (which seems to have been a lot more popular recently, although I’m sure the slight majority of people still prefer white or at-least 50-50/best of both breads), most salad creams (unless they’re poured but very lightly on coleslaw, likewise for mayo. for chips occasionally), dill (anything that reminds me of pickles/the very gherkins that I used to have to pay an extra 10p. removed from my McDonald’s burgers is a no-no), mojitos (I don’t like the taste of mint in drinks or yoghurt) and hummus. Heck, I don’t even like sandwiches that much unless they’re Italian nacho-wrap/semi-tortilla ones. I hate boiled eggs (I can never get past the smell) but I guess I don’t mind scrambled and omelettes so it’s not even like I don’t particularly like eggs as a whole (although not enough to buy them unless I need them to bake something) as-such, although I’d rather do without them altogether. I just really, really don’t like boiled eggs.
I don’t really mind sandwiches with bits of chicken/turkey (preferably breast/sliced) or chocolate-spread (funnily enough Nuttela is actually my least-favourite type/brand of chocolate-spread; it’s too ‘bitty’ for me) but as far as the ballpark-neighbourhood for cold lunch foods go I’d rather just have a Walkers (I used to prefer Ready Salted but more recently Cheese and Onion has been my go-to), McCoy’s or bag of Thai crisps (or a bar) if it can’t be some sort of Italian wrap or at-least something from Subway.
I also dislike lettuce, which is why I shy away from most salads (I like cabbage, red or green, but not lettuce).
On the contrary I love ginger-beer, every type of seafood under the sun (and I was like that before parts of the U.K. started making and selling these seafood boils), loads and loads of pepper (my taste-buds can handle peppery food and have a high tolerance for it) and I’m one of those weirdos who actually like drinking water for water’s sake. It’s not hard for me to get the recommended adult’s intake for drinking it (in litres/pints) per day.
