poor kids, just awful that someone would mock and put it on Tik Tok hope they get a ban for life if that is possible
Anyone mocking or hampering any kind of rescue should get 6 months behind bars - no questions asked

:joker: He was obviously playing about on something in the water that led to this terrible tragedy.
I was thinking some young guys ( maybe drink / drug related ) showing off in a speed boat … they’re supposedly dead cheap to hire ..
They’d create massive waves without thinking of the consequences
Just thinking aloud

Creating massive waves, which wouldn't be that big anyway, couldn't possibly lead to manslaughter, surely?!

Why were some people filming it? Two people died. Shame on them..
the police are actively seeking people who have video of what happened to use as evidence
See this boat was apparently making constant trips yesterday to the scene of the deaths ..
Now that craft would cause send serious waves inland if it’s going at speed at trying to give the passengers a “bit of a rush “

It shouldn't be allowed to go too fast near the pier. It's too dangerous.

Non of it makes any sense :conf:, I thought it was a swimming accident and that the 2 kids drown . But the whole 'manslaughter' thing with that man , suggests it's something else. It seems they don't want to explain, it can't just be a 'mystery' .

I think it’s something to do with the Boat not being licensed….
Well considering they have charged the boat’s owner with manslaughter and impounded the boat … then they stated the was no ‘contact’ with the boat or the victims… plus the boat made many trips to and from the harbour to the area by the pier .
It can only be that on one of the day trips the boat made some massive waves ( maybe the captain was showing off and going too fast ) and that caused massive waves that put everyone in difficulty ?!?!
What other explanation could there be ?

Well if they were his passengers and they jumped or fell overboard or hit them in the sea and his boat isn’t licensed to use his boat…then he will be up for manslaughter…

Well the police said no contact with anybody … but I guess they could have been thrown overboard..
Aren’t all boat passengers given life jackets by law though ?

died after being pulled under the water

[Sunnah Khan was in the water near the
Victorian pier with her siblings when she
was pulled under on Wednesday afternoon, May 31,
but her distraught mother claims police
still have not explained the exact circumstances
of her daughter's death.
Sunnah, along with 17-year-old Joe Abbess - who
had been at the beach with friends - was fatally
injured and later died in hospital despite
the best efforts of medics and lifeguards.]

Presumably they were at the pier where the boat drops off/on at and when the boat pulled away they got sucked under by the tow?

That’s feasible though I have no experience of the ‘tow’ from boats ..
I still think the boat maybe caused the already choppy waves to be be bigger / stronger and the kids were either thrown against the pier or dragged under the waves

This is exactly why I would never swim near the pier.
I don't go too far in the water. It's not safe, anything can happen there.
It's possible that they were overwhelmed by the bigger waves.

Why wasn’t it mentioned anywhere/anytime in the period since last Wednesday ??
