i dont think it will be before the next election now, and the tories will be either led by Sunak as PM or in opposition which i don't think would suit Boris at all

i'm sure it's his intention to come back like a messiah, and given his history, i would never write him off, but people tend to move on, not look backward, so, on this occasion, i think he has had his day in the sun. It's a bit like Trump, he was a loser at the height of his popularity, it's unlikely he will recover from that

I kind of feel like his return to PM has a kind of grim inevitability.

When Truss was PM it was easy to think "all he did was have a few parties!" and depending on how the rest of Sunak's premiership goes, the general consensus might slip back to that view.

Anyway, depending on the outcome of the enquiries etc, I think he should be allowed to stand again in his/a constituency, and let the people decide if he "should".
