Very popular with whom ?
She’s actually very good in the mornings - obviously loves football ( and Arsenal)
.. great sense of humour and works well with the ever fabulous Ally McCoist.

don't know why it's in any way wrong for a woman to commentate on a mans sport. When i listen to the male commentators on the big media outlets i am continually squirming

I know, it's weird people have an issue with it.

nothing wrong with there on merit
in this instance, like many, that is not the case

How Lee Dixon and Steve McManaman have jobs is beyond me. They're not just annoyingly bad, they're also wrong on a regular basis. Can't remember the game, but McManaman was saying "on the keeper had no chance with that shot" yet the keep had actually tipped it over the bar

Agree. Dixon is OK but I dont want to hear any criticism of female presenters unless we also discuss Michael Owen, Robbie Savage, Gabby Agbonlahor etc I remember David Bentley trying to become a pundit; he could barely string a sentence together.
There is far too much criticism of female pundits and presenters and IMO not enough criticism of the men. Some male pundits are truly terrible

Rebecca Lowe is a really decent presenter on NBC for the PL. Kate Abdo is great on the Paramount CL coverage too (and she's ridiculously good looking, just saying  ) Thierry Henry is clearly smitten with her, and nobody could blame him.
Im not really a fan of Alex Scott if im honest, i just don't rate her as a presenter.
But yeah, there are so many terrible male pundits. I almost forgot how awful Owen was too.

Its a bogus argument
Like saying no point having a go at Boris when you are not criticizing Hitler or Ted Heath
You can criticise awful women pundits who have got jobs (and djs like Zoe Ball) who have been put into positions because they are women/attractive and not because they are any good
and you can criticize male ones like John Hartson or Andy Walker
but you dont need to do both always together or make mention of them.
And to say the male ones dont get pelters too is inaccurate as they do, all the time

Your first post mentions women shoehorned. I'd argue some players are shoehorned too but you dont want talk about it. i So are you, or are you not talking specifically about female presenters. Where's the Michael Owen is terrible thread.

In fact, I think more managers should become pundit. Wenger Martin O'Neil, Martinez are always good. Fewer player pundits, more manager pundits.
I found Emma Hayes pretty decent as a pundit.
Was it McManaman saying "oh i knew it would be 2 english teams in the CL final" a couple years back just before Real Madrid cancelled him?
Mark Lawrenson was bloody awful a while back too.
don't even get me started on Ian Wright :joker:
He's not a great pundit, but i do like him in general.

Agreed, she's a very good broadcaster and genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about sport. It's not like she claims to be an expert on the game or anything but as a host she's very strong and like Zizu says she has great chemistry and banter with Ally McCoist
Plus she's only leaving because she's obviously got something bigger coming up (probably a big role in TNT sports) so it's not like she's going to be fading away from sports broadcasting

Indeed the clamor to have a female sports presenter at all cost is still very strong

Tbf to Laura Woods, all of them on Talksport talk out of their ass.
It's entertaining don't get me wrong, but the anti-woke brigade aren't going to see a massively different Talksport with her gone.

Yeah he’s a natural …
I saw him in a documentary many years ago when the tv crew were being shown around one of his club grounds / stadium and he was walking around introducing everyone like the canteen staff , physios etc .. they even showed the injured players getting treated and he was scathing :)
He was absolutely hilarious

I can believe that he was good in the documentary.
I've never understood the dislike that some people hold towards Savage, unless the people are Dion Dublin superfans then I might understand it a bit more.:joker:
He may be funny to some, but he is a crap pundit
