View Full Version : Colin Pitchfork: Double child killer and rapist to be released
Double child killer and rapist Colin Pitchfork has been granted parole and will be released from prison.
Pitchfork was jailed for life for raping and strangling two 15-year-old girls, Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth, in Leicestershire in 1983 and 1986.
The 63-year-old was released in 2021, before being arrested and sent back to prison two months later.
Following a hearing held in private in April, the Parole Board has decided Pitchfork can be released.
In its decision, the Parole Board "determined that it was no longer necessary for the protection of the public for Mr Pitchfork to remain confined and thereby directed his release".
"The prisoner had committed shocking, serious offences, causing immeasurable harm to his victims," it said.
"However the Parole Board's role, as required by law is to undertake a risk assessment.
"The panel noted that Mr Pitchfork has been in prison for a very long time. His behaviour for almost all of that time has not caused any concern... and the evidence before the panel demonstrated that he had learnt the lessons that he had been taught and had worked out how to apply them in practice."

This has been allowed to happen because these boards consider rehabilitation above punishment, which i think is sickeningly wrong

How can some who raped and murdered two teenagers ever be considered for Parole in the first place? That's sick. Imagine being the parents/family of those girls, it's disgusting

Maybe parol boards should instead get in the victim's family and ask them - "have you got over your daughters deaths?" if they say yes then the killer can get parole

And it's not just about whether or not the families have gotten over it either, how could you put a man capable of that stuff back out on the streets and risk more innocent lives? Why is he worth risking the lives of innocent people?
i consider going to prison a punishment and a method of keeping the public safe. There is no rehabilitation for a double child murdering rapist

Sure
He was sent back to prison for following women? If that's not a massive red flag to keep him inside then i dunno what is?!

Well they had better be keeping a close watch on this not to be trusted vile individual. No one wants scumbags like him free to roam.

I've actually been fuming about this all day but had to control my anger.
It's like okay he raped and murdered two children but because he's been in jail for three decades, that's okay he can get out.
The parole board need put in jail WITH HIM.
The horror those girls went through cannot be imagined without breaking out in tears.
He lost 30 years of his freedom. They lost their entire lives, maybe 75 years left to live. And all the beautiful things that go with life, like family, boyfriends, fun, marriage, babies, holidays, loving life. They were robbed of all that.
That piece of sh** could live another 30 years.
I just hope someone finds out where he is and hangs him by the b**s.
I’m amazed someone hasn’t already started a petition to keep him behind bars
I bet a million would sign it by Monday morning

Yes it is
he is trying again to get released
because he did not understand
what he should do once on parole.
He should have been put to sleep the moment it was proved that he murdered those two innocents

Yes it’s absurd.. they released him saying his behaviour in prison surrounded by hairy arsed inmates hadn’t been a concern !!!
After releasing him he was arrested days later for following some women around ..
They should name and shame the people who came to that release decision and get them uk explain themselves.
Then maybe future appeal cases will act more responsibly.

A video of all 70 uk prisoners facing a lifetime in jail without the chance if release.
Just look at how many were released and then went in to kill again, this giving them a whole life tariff.

I’d put the people who released the reoffenders on public trial ..
This all reminds my of that lenient female judge who let a serial mugger off with community service .. and was robbed by him outside her bank a few weeks later
