Not sure only fans should be allowed to be advertised on public billboards tbf
Never understood why Onlyfans is so popular. I mean if you wanna find naked women, or men on the internet it's not exactly difficult. Maybe it's the interaction aspect. If it's anything like twitch i think some people hope they're in with a chance of winning the streamers' affection by giving them so much.

Yes Liam, a good girl getting on with her entrepreneurial sex work and not complaining about namby-pamby rights or safe spaces. Just how we like 'em bro.

I find it quite refreshing for a woman to use her body to advertise herself, rather than to advertise some multi national company.

OnlyFans is 100% a representation of the literal objectification/commoditisation of the (usually female) body and exactly why women's bodies are used by multinational companies to advertise their products. Having it be supposedly self-driven "self selling" legitimises it more than anything else. The female form for sale to be ogled by men ... there's no scope for complaint about other organisations cashing in on that if we're saying this is OK. Or "good". It's digital prostitution and it benefits no one (including the porn-addled "customers").

Absolutely. From what I've read about Onlyfans as well, how much a person makes from it is massively exaggerated as well in most cases :
The average creator on OnlyFans earns $151 per month*
This is what you're looking at earning for the most part if you decide to join the platform according to the statistics for 2023.

Women choosing to own their bodies and their sexualities, even if it’s to make money, is only a good thing, I thought we were passed looking down on women for the choices they make? Or is that acceptable again? I can’t keep up with the modern brand of ‘feminism’

Objectification is objectification and isn't good for anyone no matter who is doing it; when people objectify themselves, they normalise the objectification of everyone. There is no "owning it". It's not "empowering". Like I said above it doesn't benefit anyone... not those doing it, and not even the porn-sick incels buying it. It does encourage them and their thinking, though. After all, how can it be wrong to objectify people if people are choosing to objectify themselves by their own free will?
And Niamh is right with the above as well; it's also an illusion of empowerment. A miniscule number make big money... another tiny proportion end up making a passable living from it, and these are held up as reaslitic examples that tempt naive young people into the idustry with the promise of riches and expensive lifestyles.
What most of them end up with is their nudes all over the internet, £500 in their pocket and 3 stalkers.
Niamh.

I'm certainly not looking down on anyone, looking out for would be a better phrase

This isn't even a modern-partisan issue either to be honest, after young women the next two most affected groups by these "empowering sites" are trans women and gay men (or rather not men, boys in their late teens, because that's what the old fat sweaty men with their cocks out will pay to see).
Most people end up deeply regretting it. You don't often hear from those people though. You hear from the ones who made a fortune or maybe made a bit of independent money that got them out of an even worse situation (bad childhood home or coercive control in a relationship maybe). An absolutely miniscule proportion but they're the ones who got some benefit from it, so of course they're the ones you hear about.

Take it whatever way you want Liam, I really don't care but as a woman of 44 who's been a teenage girl/young woman and who's raised one as well, I think I have the lived experience to have a genuine concern around things like this. I really don't care what you think of me or my motives behind my opinion on it.

it's an onlyfans advert as much as it is an advert for the woman and that is a porn site. If this is allowed then you will soon be getting similar adverts for every other adult site

Just imagine if PornHub did it, the uproar lol. Though if it was promoting it's LGBT+ section of the site, im sure they'd be hailed "heroic and progressive"

Millions watch porn but only a tiny percentage go on to rape someone
If there was no porn you would still get rapes and sexual assaults
In Mancheater there is a giant boris johnson mock up poster of him and thug life..only it says tory life.
It is a naked boris johnson with a tiny cock and tattoos.

There’s two ways of looking at some things ..
I saw a documentary on serial killers and everyone they’d researched over a ten year period had had a history of animal cruelty .. it doesn’t follow that everyone who’s cruel to animals will be a serial killer but every serial killer will prob have a history of animal cruelty

Yes who cares if it enables sex trafficking, child exploitation or encourages the wide-scale objectification of women so long as people are being productive and paying their taxes :joker:.
It's really quite stunning the extent to which the "left" has become little more than right wing neoliberal shills.
"So long as she's earning a living". FFS .
"What does he do?"
"Oh he sells crack to 15 year olds outside schools."

Modern day feminism has become yet another mechanism for shaming women for making their own choices, ‘we support all women!… unless they’re doing something we don’t personally like, then **** them and their free will!’
This assumption that women who choose to go into this line of work to support themselves, aren’t thinking properly or that they don’t truly understand what they’re doing and need to be protected from themselves, is a completely backwards mentality and just seeks to further infantilise women and belittle their capabilities to think and behave as individuals, which is ironically the antithesis of the entire point of the feminist movement.

The line of thinking is that this line of work promotes objectification, enables sex trafficking, enables child sex exploitation, contributes to already chronic toxic male porn-sickness and shouldn't exist to be "chosen".
There is no "assumption". There are the verified facts that OnlyFans etc are rife with sex trafficking and exploitation of minors. If you'd actually bother to read an article instead of just reeling off the "right on stuff you've heard" you might be more aware of that. And even if they weren't VERIFIABLY rife with criminal activity and pimping, their very existence and the ability to "buy bodies for cash" plays right into the incel ideology of women's worth being their bodies.
Whether you would like to accept it or not, you're playing right into the hands of toxic misogyny. You are a pair of unapologetic misogynists pretending to be on the side of or even vaguely care about women. It's utterly bloody rotten. You don't give a stuff about actual women. You tell us so over, and over, and over again.
