[Fitch Ratings downgraded its US debt rating
on Tuesday from the highest AAA rating to AA+, citing
“a steady deterioration in standards of governance.”
The downgrade comes after lawmakers negotiated
up until the last minute on a debt ceiling deal earlier
this year, risking the nation's first default.]

It's actually more to do with the fact republicans keep forcing debt limit fights, which show the US has lost trust, because from a credit ratings agency perspective, the US is doing well.

Biden has reduced the debt burden, after trump added 8 trillion to it in just 4 years. That's a fact, and it's also a fact that the agency takes issue with the debt celling fights that republicans unnecessarily force in order to try and create the crises, so they can run to fox to scream about it on TV.
That doesn't make it good for the little guy, but the credit agency doesn't concern itself with that. Are you turning into a Marxist now, by critiquing an economy that is designed to favour the wealthy? I've never seen you show any interest in how capitalism affects ordinary people before. Welcome comrade.

Trump is 3 years younger than Biden. He can't walk down ramps, and loses his ability to make sense regularly, and only seems to be able to speak at times, when he accompanies his talking with constant sniffing sounds, so not sure what that is about :smug:
All of American politics is too old, and it's a 2 party problem.

You need to change the thread title then, because it was supposed to be about the US being downgraded by a credit agency, which has nothing to do with bidenomics, which is neoliberal BS at best anyway.
it's a manipulation so that big corporations can make some money, there was no other reason for doing it. As to the american economy, it's performing better than expected, so people can moan about biden, but his government have done ok. Much better than Sunak and Co, thats for sure

Mostly good post, but unfortunately, the republicans forcing debt limit fights is the reason this has happened. The money making is just a nice added bonus as the people suffer.
