Do you thrive most in spontaneous chaos or are you … borderline-anakastic [obsessive-compulsive personality (disorder)] about sort of the way you do things and live your life?

I’m a little bit OCD….everything has a place in my house and I don’t like anything out of place.
I’m not an impromptu person either cos I like to plan ahead and be prepared…:hehe:

I do want to put it out there though that I’m not trivialising OCD or muddling it with that sort of stereotypical rigid perfectionism (I think I’ve established enough that I’m the last person who would do that). Some people with OCD clean and order things excessively because of anxiety over what might happen if they don’t but obsessions and compulsions can be about anything and feature much darker themes that cause the person suffering even more mental distress. Cleaning just happens to be the most commonly known, stereotypical example.

What I meant by anakastic (the ICD label for the thingy) was the so-called personality disorder (OCPD) which causes extreme perfectionism in people who ‘have’ it. The name’s a bit of a misnomer because it doesn’t actually have anything to do with OCD per-se. But ya.

I'm not not a perfectionist, but I always want to be the best and always want to win in anything I do. But I'm a good sport and never want to win if I get an unfair advantage. I'll always grass myself up if I get an advantage that I shouldn't have got. I have to win fairly.

I strive to be a perfectionist and it’s so very draining due to all my flaws …

Can’t change though .. so the struggles will continue

I feel the same as regards sport or challenges..in fact I’d rather be at a disadvantage as that makes winning more enjoyable .. plus there’s a built in excuse if I lose :)

Playing-wise .. small sided football , badminton, tennis and table tennis..

Plus I challenge ( time) MYSELF each time I go jogging ( set routes )

I try to get faster times as I age !!

Quite a challenge…

I prefer to just keep my sporting stanning simple so I vibe with boxing, wrestling and athletics (and I’ve actually always been surprisingly good at athletics) more than anything else, and I guess I’m not bad at tennis. Despite having a decent chunk of Scouseness in me I’m not particularly interested in footie and I never have been. I customarily say I support the Reds and I do but I’m not a big football fan so that’s off the cards for me.
